I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Vivian[/name] [name]Alice[/name]. I definitely don’t think [name]Alice[/name] is too close to [name]Elsa[/name], especially as a middle name.
[name]Elsa[/name] and [name]Olive[/name] would be positively divine together.
I’d turn [name]Helen[/name] into [name]Helena[/name] though, I think [name]Olive[/name] [name]Helena[/name] flows better.
[name]Sylvie[/name] Jne is my personal favorite!
[name]Sylvie[/name] is absolutely adorable and definitely can stand alone! I think it sounds great with [name]Elsa[/name]
This tickled me, because I have a [name]Greta[/name] and [name]Elsa[/name].
Interestingly enough, we had [name]Sylvie[/name] in our top 3 for baby girl number 3. I adore the name [name]Sylvie[/name]! My husband felt it was too French sounding for our family (which I didn’t really agree with), and I felt it was a little tongue twisty next to [name]Elsa[/name]. I practiced saying the names together and didn’t like it…something about the repeated el and yl sounds (and then the s sounds being opposite – els and syl) threw me off. Part of me regrets not using [name]Sylvie[/name], though. I think it is so sweet!
I like [name]Olive[/name] with [name]Elsa[/name], since they’re both short and start with a vowel; it compliments them.
[name]Olive[/name] [name]Helen[/name] is strong, and goes very well with [name]Elsa[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name].
[name]Sylvie[/name] also goes good with [name]Elsa[/name],as they both have that “s” sound, and [name]Sylvie[/name] is quirky and short without the “a” at the end. [name]Sylvia[/name] is stuffy and would have been too matchy with both ending in “a”. [name]Jane[/name] is kind of out of left-field, especially since [name]Elsa[/name] has such a feminine, strong middle name of [name]Beatrice[/name].
And [name]Alice[/name] is very close to [name]Elsa[/name]. They don’t look alike, but I’ve had that sort of problem. My name is [name]Olivia[/name], and while working with a [name]Lydia[/name], I discovered just how close those names really are when said in a hurry. Over the phone I get mistaken for [name]Lydia[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name] a lot… I guess when you say the names fast they sound kind of close!
[name]Greta[/name] and [name]Elsa[/name] sound good together too but… It almost sounds like [name]Hansel[/name] and [name]Gretal[/name]!
- [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jane[/name] (I like [name]Sylvie[/name] on it’s own!)
- [name]Vivian[/name] [name]Alice[/name] (If [name]Alice[/name] is a middle, it’s not to close to [name]Elsa[/name])
- [name]Olive[/name] [name]Helen[/name] (Though I’d prefer [name]Olive[/name] [name]Jane[/name])
- [name]Florence[/name] [name]Wren[/name]
Thanks for the responses everyone! I like [name]Greta[/name], but maybe not with [name]Elsa[/name] for our family. [name]One[/name] thing I like about [name]Elsa[/name] is that it has an almost international feeling. The name to me could be [name]German[/name], Spanish, Swiss… Our last name is Swiss and my tastes are wanting to skew more French with [name]Sylvie[/name] (or [name]Vivian[/name] maybe) whereas an [name]Elsa[/name]/[name]Greta[/name] pair (or [name]Ingrid[/name], which I also love) makes [name]Elsa[/name] feel more [name]German[/name] than it did on its own. Not sure if that makes sense…
[name]Elsa[/name] was my husband’s first choice from the moment I suggested it as a possibility and I actually had to warm up to it! I kept worrying she was [name]Iris[/name], even a day or two after she arrived! I love the name now of course. Husband’s not sold on [name]Sylvie[/name], but maybe I’ll get first pick next time around.
[name]Florence[/name] [name]Wren[/name] is the winner for me. [name]Elsa[/name] and [name]Florence[/name] are beauties.
[name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is a close second. And yes it is a stand alone name, and I prefer it over [name]Sylvia[/name]. [name]Sylvia[/name] is just a touch old ladyish to me. [name]Sylvie[/name] fells like its modern with history.
[name]Florence[/name] [name]Wren[/name] is a winner for me, but, [name]Wren[/name] is a nickname for [name]Florence[/name] so maybe that might influence you a little.
