Possible nickname for a boys name.

So we have thought about the nickname enix for phoenix… Does it work… as a nickname. is in the name. not a stretch like finn might be for that name?

opinions pleaseee xxx thank you x

It’s a bit odd because it is the same number of syllables and rhymes with [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]. You pretty much just removed the F sound at the beginning. I guess I usually think of nicknames as shortening a name or else adding a cutesy ending, e.g. [name_f]Nix[/name_f] or [name_f]Nixie[/name_f]. That said, Enix looks cute. It just made me think E-nik, which brought me to [name_m]Enoch[/name_m], which is a name I love and had forgotten about, so thanks

I guess it works but it’s not actually shorter than [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] is. It makes me think if eunuchs actually. I like [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]. I’d probably call him Phee.

It works but it just seems like a mispronunciation of [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]. I prefer [name_f]Nix[/name_f] for [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u].

I actually prefer [name_u]Finn[/name_u], it feels like a more natural nickname based on the sound of the name. If the nickname is the same length as the full name then what’s the point? I agree that [name_f]Nix[/name_f] is also cute and would work. Enix feels like calling [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] Enjamin or [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] Illip or [name_m]William[/name_m] Illiam or [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] Owan – just sorta pointless and odd.

Not sure if you’re pronouncing that just like [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] without the f sound. I think pheonix is a great name in itself without a nickname.

Personally I would not use a nickname for [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u].

[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] seems like a name that is not fit to have nicknames.

At the moment it was just a case of throwing things about… And Enix was randomly thought out and come to think of it… oddly enough its the makers of final fantasy, Square enix… that’s hilarious i’d totally forgot about that… We did think of Phe but thought hmm sounds a bit girly, also nixie sounds a bit more feminine too… & [name_f]Nix[/name_f] well basically an i instead of a y for [name_f]Nyx[/name_f]. I wasnt too keen on nicky but finn is nice we both like that but is it too far form phoenix itself…

I think [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is fine for a nn for [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u].

Enix sounds off to me, but I love the name [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u].

I always liked [name_f]Nix[/name_f] or [name_m]Nixon[/name_m], Ien(ian), or [name_u]Pax[/name_u] could work.
