People will call him whatever he’s first introduced as. Some may naturally start to call him [name]Ross[/name], but all it takes is for you to say once, “Actually we’re calling him [name]Oz[/name]” and that would suffice. I think [name]Ozzy[/name] would work. [name]Even[/name] though it’s not the most intuitive, I think you could even pull off [name]Rex[/name] from [name]Roscoe[/name]. [name]Roe[/name] is another or [name]Rock[/name] could also be stretched to be a nickname. Great name- full of history and spunk!
I think the ones that would work the best if you don’t like [name]Ross[/name] is [name]Oz[/name] or [name]Roe[/name]. I think [name]Oz[/name] can be just as easy to pull of as [name]Ross[/name] because the sound is right there in the beginning of the name. [name]Just[/name] Introduce him as “[name]Roscoe[/name] but he likes to go by [name]Oz[/name].” And most people will call him that (as per my experience with children at the daycare. ^_^)
I think [name]Oz[/name] is a great nn for [name]Roscoe[/name]. Sure, some people may choose to call him whatever (friends and teammates, etc.); but most people will call him what he introduces himself as. If it’s [name]Oz[/name], then they’ll probably call him that. I really like it!
