Hello again Berries,
I had little [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Elise[/name] (we call her [name]Juni[/name]) just over a week ago and I’m already thinking about a future sister’s name! Haha, once a name nerd, always a name nerd I suppose! We had a boys name ready, which was [name]Edward[/name] [name]Zephyr[/name], which I think would still be top of the list if we had a boy.
[name]Elise[/name] is after my grandmother and if we had another little girl, we’d like to have [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Annie[/name] or a variation in the middle spot after my great-aunt and [name]MIL[/name]. For the first name, I’d like something sweetly old-timey and quirky, with a [name]Little[/name] House on the [name]Prairie[/name] feel. But definitely not another nature name of any sort- I don’t want to start a theme, too much pressure if we end up having more babies. I’ve come up with the following, which give you an idea of my style:
[name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Annie[/name] (my favourite and the least problematic)
[name]Dolores[/name] [name]Annie[/name] (suddenly thought of [name]Dolores[/name] the other day, the nn [name]Dolly[/name] is really sweet)
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name] (but DH doesn’t like [name]Clara[/name])
[name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Anna[/name] (love [name]Rosalie[/name], but its too nature-y)
[name]Sadie[/name] [name]Anna[/name] ([name]Sadie[/name] doesn’t flow with our last name)
I’d also love any hyphenated first name ideas, I really love that style. Our last name is 2 syllables and ends in -by
I do feel a bit of a loon thinking about the next baby name when I only named one 9 days ago, but its so much fun! And also a great distraction from the sleeplessness and constant feeding! ;-D
[name]Caroline[/name] - An actual [name]Little[/name] House on the [name]Prairie[/name] name, and I love it.
[name]Susannah[/name] - Quirky, not very popular, but sweet and femme.
[name]Araminta[/name] - This is one of those “lost in the sands of time” names most places, but the nickname [name]Minty[/name] is super cute and [name]Araminta[/name] is a fave of mine.
[name]Annabel[/name] might be my favourite [name]Anna[/name]-name.
[name]Martha[/name] - Possibly too vintage for anyone but meeee, but I like [name]Mattie[/name] as a NN and [name]Martha[/name] seems sweet without being sappy.
[name]Minerva[/name] - [name]Minerva[/name] is very Victorian, but [name]Minnie[/name] is a cute nickname and the goddess ain’t shabby either. And [name]Minerva[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name] sound similiar in tone but it’s not two tree names or two goddess names both of which can get a bit iffy theme-wise.
[name]Thomasina[/name] - Too much? Should I show myself out?
This was a challenge for me - a lot of my favourite old-timey names are flower names.
Congratulations! [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Elise[/name] is absolutely adorable:) I like [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Anna[/name] with [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Elise[/name], I don’t mind the nature connection. I loved the suggestion of [name]Minerva[/name] for you, [name]Minerva[/name] [name]Anne[/name] or [name]Minerva[/name] [name]Annie[/name] is really sweet! [name]How[/name] about [name]Isobel[/name] [name]Anne[/name], [name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Aveline[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] or [name]Verity[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]?
I love your daughter’s name and what a great nn. [name]Dolores[/name] [name]Anne[/name] (silent e) is what I like best. [name]Dolly[/name] is a very sweet nn. I love the pp suggestion of [name]Sadie[/name]-[name]Ann[/name] for a hyphenated name. [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Jane[/name] is my favorite hyphenated name though.
