[name_f]Edith[/name_f] goes much better with the sound of the last name. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] “Choice” is too hissy in my opinion.

I agree that [name_f]Edith[/name_f] flows better with LN, but given that we’ll likely call her [name_f]Edie[/name_f] much of the time, I find that kind of annoying with half-sister [name_f]Katy[/name_f]. I think I can overlook the [name_f]Iris[/name_f] Choice flow, or the [name_f]Edie[/name_f]/[name_f]Katy[/name_f] thing, just trying to decide which I love enough to overlook the tiny faults.

I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f], but I find [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] to be really heavy. Unfortunately, to most people, [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is still seen as an “old lady name” and pairing it with something like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] makes it feel overall old and somewhat stale.

I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and the way it sounds with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is simply gorgeous. It’s spunky and fresh while maintaining its sweet, vintage feel.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is STUNNING, although I see how it could be a little ssss heavy. It’s up to you how much that actually matters.

Normally I feel neutral about [name_f]Iris[/name_f] but [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is beautiful. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], gorgeous.

I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]! [name_m]Both[/name_m] of your combos are lovely though.

I like that [name_f]Edith[/name_f] has nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f] whereas [name_f]Iris[/name_f] doesn’t really have one. And I’m not a fan of [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], it is #1 girl name in [name_f]England[/name_f] too.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is gorgeous! I can see how you would be worried about the flow with your last name, but most of the time she will just be called [name_f]Iris[/name_f] anyway. I think [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f] are both cute, but a bit senior citizen.

I love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] but I’m not a fan of the other names…What about [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f]/ [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]?

Btw, [name_f]Kate[/name_f]/ [name_f]Katy[/name_f] is a lovely name.

[name_m]Both[/name_m] names have a great flow but I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] over [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. I chose [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].

I voted for [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is too hissy and fusty to me still. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is solid and strong, vintage-chic and elegant. I’d prefer [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] though, a grounded classic that holds her own against [name_f]Edith[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] which is beautiful but too “flighty” and lightweight next to it.

I think both combo’s are stunning - [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is perfection and I did have this combo as middle names for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is beautiful too.

I voted for [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I love it! [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is on my list too.

Thanks for the input!

I think I’m leaning slightly toward [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]… It’s so hard, because some days [name_f]Edith[/name_f] feels right, and some days [name_f]Iris[/name_f] feels right. H likes both, but prefers [name_f]Edith[/name_f], so that may end up making our decision. The [name_f]Katy[/name_f]/[name_f]Edie[/name_f] thing does bug me, though. Too much of the -dee sound.

I’m a bit worried that I’ve thought about both names so much now that they’re both starting to sound a bit ‘blah.’

I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Edith[/name_f] goes better with the surname.

The quirky and frilly [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] livens up the vintage [name_f]Edith[/name_f] quite a bit so I slightly prefer that combo to [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I do think [name_f]Edith[/name_f]/[name_f]Edie[/name_f] flows better with your surname as well. At least you have two wonderful combos to bring to the hospital with you.

I keep thinking [name_f]Iris[/name_f] would make a better sibset, potentially. We plan to TTC soon after I have this baby, and if it’s a boy, his name will be [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] are a bit unintentionally matchy, and [name_f]Katy[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] just doesn’t sound as great as [name_f]Katy[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]. However… not sure how much consideration I should give to a nonexistent sibling, at this point. :-/

I like both names, they’re both gorgeous, and neither really jumps out as sounding better with last name ‘Choice’ - [name_f]Iris[/name_f] Choice is a little hissy, [name_f]Edith[/name_f] Choice is a little lispy, so it doesn’t really matter, either is perfectly fine. However, [name_f]Katy[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f] would drive me crazy, especially if I were [name_f]Katy[/name_f] and always thought you were talking to me when you called [name_f]Edie[/name_f], or vice versa. I have three sisters and I was lucky and got the nickname that doesn’t have two syllables and end in -ee, so I always know when I’m being called - but the other three, not so much. [name_f]My[/name_f] mother and her sisters all have nicknames that are two syllables and end in -ee as well, which can really make family gatherings confusing. [name_f]Katy[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f], though, is so sweet and won’t get you tongue-tied.
