Pre-K class names!

Went to the open house yesterday for my son’s new pre-kindergarten class. Here are some names of kids we met: (this is in Northeastern U.S.)

[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Hana[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] (sister [name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] (brother [name_u]Noah[/name_u])
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] (brother [name_u]Owen[/name_u])
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] (has a cat [name_f]Stella[/name_f]…hehe)
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] (sister [name_f]Amelia[/name_f])
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] & [name_m]Silas[/name_m] (twins; sister [name_f]Hazel[/name_f])
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] (brother [name_m]Jonah[/name_m])
[name_u]Alex[/name_u] (brother [name_m]Jonah[/name_m])

That’s all i remember for now. Was kind of funny with all the overlap with siblings there… [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] x2, [name_u]Owen[/name_u] x2, [name_m]Miles[/name_m] x2, [name_m]Silas[/name_m] x2, [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] x2.

Anyway thought I’d share. Any surprises?

Cute, lots that I really like there! I find [name_m]Miles[/name_m] & [name_m]Silas[/name_m] to be such a mouthful and very rhyme-y for twins, but perhaps that’s what they were going for!

Lot’s of awesome names on this list! I had honestly expected more -aiden’s. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] isn’t a surprise, because that name has seemed to pick up drastically (I blame The Fault in Our Stars). [name_f]Freya[/name_f], though, was a total surprise! I’m liking that name a lot more lately.

My nephews started pre-school the other day, and here’s there list (they live in an area with many other Italian-American families):
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Gianna[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_m]Jairo[/name_m], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], [name_u]Peyton[/name_u], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], and [name_m]Joshua[/name_m]…doesn’t inclue my nephews

I’m surprised there aren’t more unusual/creative names. I am also in Northeast US, and the names of the kids in Kindergarten this year are like half creative names and half are names like [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f], [name_m]Nikolas[/name_m], [name_m]Clayton[/name_m], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_u]Logan[/name_u], etc. I am in a suburb of a major city so maybe that’s why.

There was at least one very creative name but I couldn’t remember what it was exactly, will know more next week once school actually starts.

I know, I was impressed with the likes of [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Hana[/name_f]! A little sad about [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] as it has always been high on my list, Then again, I have an [name_u]Owen[/name_u] so…

@namergirl3, I love the Italian-American girls names. Are [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] boys or girls? I feel like they’re more popular as girls names around here…

@emsky- [name_u]Riley[/name_u] and [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] are boys, but I’ve heard them used for girls more often, as well.

The little ones at my school’s pre-K include [name_f]Sonia[/name_f], [name_m]Emrys[/name_m], [name_f]Mireille[/name_f], [name_f]Kaya[/name_f], [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], [name_u]Devin[/name_u] (girl), [name_f]Savannah[/name_f], [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], [name_f]Kailee[/name_f], [name_m]Eric[/name_m], [name_m]Coltrane[/name_m], [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u], [name_m]Maximus[/name_m], and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f], as well as two Emilys, an [name_f]Emmie[/name_f], and one little [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]. I was extremely surprised by the lack of -[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] names.

Ooh nice to see [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] and [name_u]Dorian[/name_u]!

Class list I saw of the younger set in our school was [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f]… and I’m forgetting the rest.
