Pregnancy Cravings!

So cravings happen anyway, but they are more frequent and often stronger and stranger when you are pregnant!
Im 23 weeks with #4; each child has given me different cravings but this child has given me by far the weirdest one yet. Milk. Yep. just ice cold white milk, may not sound weird, but I [name_m]DON[/name_m]'T LIKE MILK! it makes me gassy. lol. But i find myself waking up for my middle of the night pee and wandering into the kitchen to guzzle the milk right out of the jug! (also a bad habit) I can’t be the only one to get a craving for something i don’t usually ingest, so lets hear your stories berries.

When I was pregnant with EJ I had cravings for chips (crisps) and I wanted them hot though. SO had to put them on a try in the oven. Another craving was Vegemite toast and it HAD to be accompanied by [name_m]Milo[/name_m] milk in the morning and that only lasted during the second trimester.
With [name_m]Julien[/name_m] I didn’t get that far along (7-8 weeks) to experience cravings (I think) unless the tomatoes and avocado were a craving, I loved them on toast with avocado and salt & pepper.
I had a friend that loved dipping her fries (from macdonalds/burger king) into chocolate sauce as she always wanted sweet and salty things. Another craved garlic. And one my friends that are pregnant now craves pancakes, but we all think she just wants breakfast in bed every day ;p
I have twin cousins and they were both pregnant at the same time and their cravings were the same; I think it was fish or something seafood.

I’m 16 weeks and honestly, I have no strong cravings for one particular food. It’s kind of a mood thing. I craved Pringles yesterday, today I’m craving frosted flakes, it always tends to be food we don’t have in the house so I end up making a trip to the store, lol! Also ads on TV often make me crave what is shown.

In the beginning though, I craved a lot of fruit, but by week 10 that was over. I still eat a lot of fruit now since it’s a healthy snack, but I don’t really crave it.

If anything it was aversions. I still can’t eat fish. I couldn’t stand pizza until like week 12. It was mostly the smell of it, thank goodness that’s over because we love pizza!

With [name_f]Ana[/name_f] I was SOOOOO healthy, before I was pregnant with her I wasn’t exactly eating very healthy and the day I said to my husband “i am just dying for a carrot” (he grows a garden that before i was pregnant i had no interest in) he immediately said “okay are you pregnant?” i didn’t have morning sickness at all through this pregnancy so i thought nothing of it and brushed it of, though i knew he was curious. That night i was going to make myself something unhealthy as usual, he was making himself his salad he always eats for dinner. Suddenly i looked over at that salad like it was a piece of chocolate cake and rudely reached my hand onto his plate to grab myself a few bites. He said we go to the doctor to get a test tomorrow and sure enough, i was pregnant! and ate salad with him every night after that.

With [name_f]Gen[/name_f] it was a lot of bread and fruit. I think my cravings conveniently went well with our surroundings because we lived in [name_f]France[/name_f] when i was pregnant with her, my husband would bring me a fresh baguette for breakfast lunch and dinner and i would just hold the whole thing in my hands and eat away with some fresh fruit.

With my current pregnancy i am craving anything terrible for me again. We swore this one was a boy because of how different i feel, but nope its another girl! If its greasy food let me have it!!!

When I was pregnant I had zero cravings or food aversions. I was kind of bummed. I wanted to have crazy cravings and make my husband pick up weird food on the way home, but oh well. Maybe next time.

With my first pregnancy I had no cravings but a LOT of aversions. That’s the worst; things that I usually love to eat but couldn’t even stand the sight/smell of! With my second my sweets cravings went off the charts!

I had one week or so where I was craving fake cheese. Doritos, those cracker/cheese dipper things you had in your lunch box as a kid, Cheetos. It was weird. But other than that I mostly just had aversions (the smell of meat or onions made me gag!). I did eat a lot of fruit but mostly because it was the only thing I could keep down for the first/second trimesters.

Honestly, I’ve had more cravings breastfeeding! Cheesecake is like heaven.
