Pregnant after miscarriage with no Aunt Flo in between...help me!

[name]Hi[/name] all, I just found out on [name]Saturday[/name] we are expecting! We are very excited, but…we just had a miscarriage one month ago and we were not planning on getting pregnant so soon, since the risk of miscarrying is somewhat increased. Surprise! We are overjoyed but could use some good thoughts/prayers if you have time–and of course need name suggestions! Annnddd I also have no idea when I’m due, nor does my doctor yet. Anyone been in this situation before?

Big brother is [name]Vincent[/name] [name]Harrison[/name] ([name]Vince[/name], [name]Vinny[/name]). If this baby is a boy, he will most likely be [name]Walter[/name] [name]Michael[/name]–thoughts? But where we really need help are girls name! DH and I cannot agree on much at all. The only thing we have narrowed down is/are the middle/s–either [name]Faye[/name] or [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Patrice[/name] will be the middle name/s. Here are some ideas of what we kind of can agree on…

[name]Cecily[/name]–but I’m not crazy about the [name]Cece[/name] nickname.
[name]Lilla[/name] nickname [name]Lily[/name]–we both like, but [name]Lily[/name] is just soooo overdone.
[name]Sylvia[/name]–just so-so on this
[name]Leona[/name], nickname [name]Leo[/name]–we’re just so-so on this one too

I’d say our style is vintage or just older names…we like nicknames, even spunky boyish nicknames. We’d like something heard of, but not super popular. Please help! Thank you so much!

Congratulations! I’ve been in the position of not knowing when I was due (no AF due to breastfeeding). An early ultrasound can give you a pretty good indication of your due date.

I think [name]Walter[/name] goes very well with [name]Vincent[/name]. Of your girl names, [name]Lilla[/name] is my favorite, although I think one of your middle name choices–[name]Hermione[/name]–goes better with your boy name style.

[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name] (x)
[name]Elsie[/name]
[name]Esther[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Olive[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Theodora[/name]

Congratulations! You may like my latest little crush for a girl: [name]Sybil[/name], nickname [name]Billie[/name]? Good luck!

Good luck! My doctor prescribed very low dose asprin for my successful pregnancy following miscarriage, you could ask your doctor if they think this would be right or potentially helpful for you.

PS [name]Cecily[/name] could have [name]Lily[/name] as a nn instead of cece, a possible two names for the price of one win?

I love [name]Walter[/name]! Great name with [name]Vincent[/name]. I don’t, however, like [name]Faye[/name] or [name]Hermione[/name]. I do love [name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Leona[/name]. Have you considered [name]Lenore[/name]? Also great name.

I agree with norbury - [name]Lily[/name] would work nicely as a nickname with [name]Cecily[/name] and isn’t too terrible of a stretch

[name]Walter[/name] [name]Michael[/name] sounds like a handsome boy!

Suggestions for girls:
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Sybil[/name]
[name]Emmaline[/name]/[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]

I take baby aspirin throughout my pregnancies, you could ask your doctor about it. An early ultrasound should give you a good idea of when your due. Then they’ll reevaluate your due date at the 20 week ultrasound. The earlier the ultrasound the more accurate for dating purposes though.

Congratulations!
I have suffered a miscarriage and it is horrendous but I didn’t fall pregnant afterwards which to be honest was a good thing as I was so young (17) and my very young relationship couldn’t survive the stress of a miscarriage. But you know you should remain positive and think I’ve already had a healthy pregnancy which resulted in my son so why won’t this pregnancy go ok! Be positive and maybe confind in your doctor he/she could help you.

[name]Walter[/name] [name]Michael[/name] is a gorgeous combination, [name]Walter[/name] goes so well with [name]Vincent[/name] creating a really great retro sibling set. I also like the more usual name in the middle name slot similarly to [name]Harrison[/name] (which where I am is more common than [name]Vincent[/name]) I love how the pair work together and I like [name]Walter[/name] [name]Michael[/name] as a name in it’s own right as well. Great combination.

My favourite middle names are [name]Faye[/name] and Hermoine I think [name]Faye[/name] works better as a middle name as Hermoine is rather complicated in comparison to [name]Vincent[/name] [name]Harrison[/name] which is a simple retro combination. Personally out of your choices may favourite would be [name]Cecily[/name] (which doesn’t need to be shortened my name is [name]Victoria[/name] and is rarely shortened and if it is it’s out of sheer laziness and I get Vee) I think [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Faye[/name] is sweet and so flapper girl! I also love [name]Leona[/name] which sounds great with [name]Vincent[/name] but I wouldn’t shorten her name. I like the other two but I like [name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Leona[/name] work better.

Suggestions:
[name]Rosa[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Ruth[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Edith[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name] & [name]Vincent[/name]

Have you ever seen Lost? [name]Michael[/name] was the name of one of the characters. His son was called [name]Walt[/name] and their dog was [name]Vincent[/name]…

FYI do not take aspirin in pregnancy unless you have a documented clotting disorder that led to your prior miscarriage. Aspirin is generally strictly avoided in pregnancy.

The earlier you present to your OB, the more accurate your dating. You know the date of your miscarriage. A blood pregnancy test, which quantifies the level of the pregnancy hormone B-HCG, coupled with the transvaginal ultrasound all pregnant women receive at your first visit, will nail things down to the proper week. A five week fetus looks very different from a six week fetus from a seven. Later on its not so apparent; the difference between a 19 or 20 wk fetus is not appreciable to most on ultrasound. Dates are rarely revised in later pregnancy unless you wandered in off the street at about 6-7 months.

[name]Florance[/name] or frances both sprung to mind…

The same thing happened to me before I got pregnant with my son. Mine was a very early miscarriage, I don’t know if that makes a difference as to how likely another miscarriage is an immediate pregnancy afterward but it seems like the earlier the miscarriage the better for subsequent pregnancies. My Dr. told me that most women have several early miscarriages in their lives that they are never aware of because they just think it’s a late period. Anyway don’t worry too much and stay in contact with your Dr. My pregnancy with my son following miscarriage was very healthy and uneventful so is very possible.

I love your boy name idea, especially with [name]Vincent[/name] as the big brother, the V and W together are fun and [name]Walter[/name] (nn [name]Walt[/name]? =D) is fantastic. It seems we have similar taste in girl’s names, [name]Leona[/name] is my DH’s top choice for a future girl and I really like it too. [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Silvia[/name] and [name]Lillian[/name] are also on my list. I wonder if you’d like:

[name]Antonia[/name] - [name]Nina[/name] or [name]Toni[/name]?
[name]Gloria[/name]
[name]Gillian[/name]
[name]Solene[/name] - pronounced so-len
[name]Magnolia[/name]
[name]Anthea[/name]
[name]Geneva[/name]
[name]Loretta[/name]
[name]Lavender[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Marta[/name]
[name]Nova[/name]
[name]Raquel[/name]
[name]Viveka[/name]

That’s funny! I’ve never seen it, nor my husband. My dad and brother are big fans, though. If this baby is a boy, I’ll have to see if they say anything about it.

You guys are great! Thanks for all the awesome suggestions. I like [name]Florence[/name], [name]Flora[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Theodora[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Lavender[/name], and [name]Lydia[/name]. I’ll run those past the husband. I think our favorite right now is [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Patrice[/name], nicknamed [name]Lily[/name] occasionally. It’s a little bit of a mouthful, but I’m in love with [name]Hermione[/name] and [name]Patrice[/name] honors both grandmothers. I also really love [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Faye[/name] but it doesn’t have the family connection I’d like, so we’ll see. And yes [name]Walter[/name] would be called [name]Walt[/name] 99% of the time.

I just went to the doctor this morning, they ran hcg and progesterone tests so I’m waiting to hear back on those. They did an ultrasound and there was the beginning of a gestational sac and a thick endometrium so I’m hopeful! They are going to monitor me closely. My miscarriage happened in between 5 and 6 weeks, so I’m hoping since it was so early that this could be an uneventful pregnancy. My fingers are crossed and I’m praying constantly for sure. Thanks so much for all of your help!! I’d appreciate any more responses too, and I’m sure I’ll be back posting more when we hear more info!

[name]Walter[/name] [name]Michael[/name] is awesome!

[name]Leonie[/name] is kinda cute and similar to [name]Leona[/name], not sure if you’d thought of that yet
The suggestion of [name]Florence[/name] sounds sweet with [name]Vincent[/name] too (maybe nn [name]Ren[/name]/[name]Wren[/name])
I think [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]June[/name] & [name]Scarlett[/name] all sound great w/ [name]Vincent[/name] as well!

This seems like a fun thread to watch, your names all have a very old southern feel which I love!

Congrats-- [name]Walter[/name] and [name]Cecily[/name] both work really well with [name]Vincent[/name] and would make a lovely sibset!

Good news so far—HCG is 888.1 and progesterone is at a good level too. Rechecking levels tomorrow, praying for a good rise in hcg! I’m starting to let myself get excited about this pregnancy.

You can’t base too much on one level, but you’re probably 5 weeks pregnant. Due date is at the very end of [name]October[/name].

Thanks, blade! They rechecked today so I’m waiting to hear back. They are doing another ultrasound next week too…I’m anxious to get an official date!

Some other girl names I would suggest are [name]Jade[/name], [name]Bridgit[/name], and [name]Leora[/name].
