I am of Bohemian ancestry and, although I don’t care for categorizing people, our family lifstyle probably falls into that stereotypical “Bohemian/hippie” category (vegan, eco-activist, artsy, Waldorf/unschooling, liberal, etc…)
These are the names of our own kids, as well as kids of some like-minded friends and community members:
[name]Mary[/name]-[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Wilhelmina[/name]
[name]Liam[/name]
[name]Peter[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name]
[name]Jesse[/name]
[name]Rain[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Dove[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Dusty[/name]
[name]Isabella[/name]
Annalicia
[name]Veronika[/name]
[name]Natasha[/name]
[name]Kevin[/name]
[name]Sage[/name]
[name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Aidan[/name]
As you can see, while some of the names fit into that stereotype, many do not. I see what you’re going for, and I think you have some lovely names picked out, but I’m not realy sure there are “true” bohemian/hippie names, as we tend to do our own thing and be rather unpredictable… lol.
I love
[name]Willow[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name]
[name]Winter[/name]
[name]Ember[/name]
(and what I want for my own daughter: [name]Stella[/name] [name]Blue[/name])
[name]Hi[/name]! yea, I’m still here and still have no set name for my baby girl. Well, other then what the little girl I nanny for, she named my baby polkadot cutie, so that’s what we call her
I am figuring out that my husband likes some of the “trendy” names like everly, brighton, and harper. We can’t use anything that ends in -er -ar as our last names ends in -er and I don’t like the way it sounds.
I am thinking that i am going to have to kind of compromise with him and choose a trendier name for the first name and a more bohemian/nature middle name. I am a nanny/preschool teacher and my mom and sister are preschool teachers as well, and in our communitiy we don’t know any children with those names.
So here are some more names I like
trendy ones first:
[name]Everly[/name]
[name]Brighton[/name]
[name]Ramona[/name]
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]/[name]Willow[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
charleigh
Bohemian/unusual:
[name]Luna[/name]
[name]Sky[/name](love sky, but I named my dog that when I was younger and my sisters would just about kill me if I named the baby that)
[name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Happy[/name]
[name]True[/name]
[name]Kaia[/name]/kai
[name]Sunny[/name]
[name]Ocean[/name]/oceane
[name]Sunny[/name] [name]Ramona[/name]
You have to use [name]Sunny[/name] [name]Ramona[/name], it’s the most awesome combination I’ve come across in a good while!
And if [name]Sunny[/name] is to nickname-y for the DH, Sunniva is a lovely alternative, although Sunniva [name]Ramona[/name] is perhaps too clunky.
Sunniva [name]Rowan[/name] nn [name]Sunny[/name] would be nice, even though I personally can never see [name]Rowan[/name] as anything but a boys name with it’s deep O sound
Sunniva [name]True[/name] would be my top choice with Sunniva in front. [name]Sunny[/name] is the sweetest nickname!
More combos that jump out:
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Willa[/name] [name]Indigo[/name]
But [name]Sunny[/name] [name]Ramona[/name] still has the right kind of whimsy to make it my top choice from your name bundle
And as a thought - Would you consider [name]Dorothy[/name] nn [name]Dot[/name] to incorporate the Polkadot Cutie thing? Or just [name]Ramona[/name] [name]Dot[/name], [name]Kaia[/name] [name]Dot[/name] (I prefer [name]Gaia[/name]) or [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Dot[/name]? It’s something to consider ^^
love sunny ramona!! I’ll try it out with Dh tonight. as for “dot”, I came up with clementine b/c of polkdot cutie. I don’t know if you have them but where I am from clementines, a type of small tangerine are very popular especially with the preschool age for thier lunches. Well, they are nicknamed “cuties” b/c they all have stickers on them saying “cutie”.
Sorry if I kind of rambled through that, I’m pregnant
I didn’t know that about Clementines! I love clementines, but here (Norway) they’re a seasonal fruit, not sold unless it’s [name]Christmas[/name]… I think it comes from the time when clementines and oranges were considered wonderful [name]Christmas[/name] presents by the children of Norway XD
We don’t use clementine as a name here, it would be like naming your girl [name]Banana[/name]. I think [name]Clement[/name] was in use for a while, but it’s considered very very dated and unfashionable. I’m not sure it will ever gain favour again, but I thought the same about [name]Albert[/name] so I could be wrong!
Best of luck on deciding something! I think no matter which way you go, you’ll be safe as long as she’s not [name]Sunny[/name] [name]Sky[/name] [name]Ocean[/name] or [name]Truly[/name] [name]Happy[/name] That might be considered overkill…
[name]Kaia[/name] is my favorite and [name]Luna[/name] my second choice.
other ideas-
[name]Paloma[/name]
[name]Thea[/name]
[name]Amity[/name]
Kitra
[name]Tansy[/name]
[name]Shalom[/name]
[name]Fauna[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]

I’m in [name]CA[/name] too and love the [name]Clementine[/name]/cutie association. I don’t think [name]Clementine[/name] is too popular here. [name]How[/name] about [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Everly[/name] or [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Ramona[/name]?
I love some of your names. Our daughter is [name]Kaia[/name], and contrary to what has been said here, it’s not that popular (has been around 650 on the ssa list for several years). It’s working very well as a pretty and unusual name that’s not totally out there. I also love [name]Luna[/name], [name]Willa[/name], and [name]Clementine[/name].
I always liked the name [name]Azura[/name] [name]Sky[/name]. But all my girls names follow a pattern so I cant use it! Of your list my favourites are [name]Luna[/name] and [name]Devyn[/name] but spelled [name]Devon[/name]. I think [name]Everly[/name] has become way to popular in the last 6 months!
I love your names , how about :
[name]Dakota[/name]
[name]Sunnie[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]India[/name]
[name]Ione[/name]
[name]Hazelle[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]China[/name]
[name]Luz[/name]
[name]Romy[/name]
I’m considering the name [name]Ever[/name] for a girl. I love it. I also love the name [name]Kaia[/name]. I’ve been considering that lately too. [name]River[/name] is also a great one. You’re name choices are right up my alley. Good luck!
