Pregnant with #3!

More fun with names!!

I’m 12 weeks with #3! [name_m]Will[/name_m] find gender at 20 week anatomy scan.

We have two boys: [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m] and [name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]. Our last name is [name_m]Moore[/name_m].

The boy names we like are in this same vein: strong yet gentle with a somewhat Biblical feel. We have plenty of options here!

But the girl names I like are much more whimsical/nature themed: [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] ([name_u]June[/name_u]), [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_u]Shalom[/name_u], [name_m]Rainier[/name_m], [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]. (Last 2 would probably be middle names.)

I really don’t want our kids’ names to feel completely disparate if we end up with a girl! We don’t love a lot of girl Bible names but definitely open to ideas we may not have heard.

Any ideas to keep our kids’ names feeling similar with the above ideas (if we do have a girl)? Other ideas we may love??

[name_f]Keturah[/name_f] and [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] are worth suggesting in my opinion as they are biblical but have links to nature like you like ([name_f]Keturah[/name_f] is fragrance and [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] is myrtle tree). Also maybe [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f].

I would cross [name_f]Margot[/name_f] off the list as [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_m]Moore[/name_m] doesn’t sound great.

I think the best link is picking a name with an s in it.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about -

[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_u]Story[/name_u]
[name_f]Saffron[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]
[name_u]Sierra[/name_u]
[name_f]Astoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Aster[/name_f]
[name_u]August[/name_u]/a
[name_f]Betsy[/name_f] (a bit different for you but it has the same whimsical vibe. [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] would be cute)
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f]

[name_f]Sarai[/name_f]

I actually think [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] go pretty well with [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_m]Asher[/name_m] since they all feel like old/vintage names. I like [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] too even though I guess it’s a different style. It still feels kind of earthy/vintage like [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m].

[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]

My favorite of your choices is [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. I think it is fabulous with the brother names! I also quite like [name_u]June[/name_u], which I prefer to [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] because my preference would be not to repeat the -er end of [name_m]Asher[/name_m]'s name. Other ideas I had for you are [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Carmel[/name_u], and [name_f]Judith[/name_f]. I like pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and I would add [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f].

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f] ([name_f]Essie[/name_f])
[name_f]Odette[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]

I absolutely adore [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and Margot.

The best biblical girl name I think I’ve heard is Hananiah. It’s soft but adventurous and works as a first or a middle (I think it could make a great middle name with any of your potential first names currently on the list.)

Other names that could fit with Silas and Asher are:
Ruby
Ingrid
Echo
Lark
Phoebe
Wren
Laurel
Ruth
Evangeline
Robin
Clara
Elodie
Iris
Penelope
Tempest
Fern
Olivia
Willow
Jolie
Grace
Holly
Pearl

EditI love the suggestion of Paloma!!!

Some names that seem to go well are [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Selah[/name_f], [name_u]Yael[/name_u].

Congrats by the way!

I like [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] quite a bit with [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_m]Asher[/name_m]. It means “dove”, which is both biblical and a nature name

Your boy names are biblical, sure, but also nature themed. [name_m]Just[/name_m] slightly more subtle. I think any of your girl names will just turn the focus of your sib set to outdoorsy. They all work. Good luck.

That’s a beautiful name! Sadly I don’t think it works with our last name [name_m]Moore[/name_m]. :frowning:

I like the suggestion of using an S name
