Hello guys! I have a question: what names/style of names do you think of when you hear preppy or rich kid names? This question has come up because I am currently in the middle of planning characters for a story with quite a few rich people/children.
I think of names like [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m], and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] for boys, and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], and [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u] for girls. What do you guys think?
mostly either super traditional or a little different but with a lot of history imo. Also surnames as firsts (ie, a guy named [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]). Good luck with your story:)
I think of sweet, slightly old-fashioned nicknames usually ending in -ee, “British” style. You could use some of those with a more traditional first, as pps suggest. Excuse repeats:
You get the idea! Here are some more suggestions that come to mind:
[name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lettice[/name_f] / [name_f]Lettie[/name_f]
[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] / [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] / [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Martha[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]
The preppiest names are names followed by a suffix. [name_m]William[/name_m] IV seems preppier than simply [name_m]William[/name_m]. Traditional names are common as are surname names.
