Pretentious or not?

[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to Nameberry and congratulations! How thrilling after all you’ve been through.

Two middle names is less standard in the US but many more people do it now, possibly influenced by all the royal babies. I’m in the US and gave my daughter two middle names after both her grandmothers, which she’s always loved. [name_f]Many[/name_f] forms don’t have space for two middles but tbh my only regret is not putting my mother’s name in second place rather than third. It didn’t occur to me at the time that my mother was likely to have many fewer grandchildren than my mother -in-law, who had 8 children and many granddaughters named after her. It was much more meaningful to my mother and I wish i’d been more sensitive to that.

So bottom line: happy with the number of middles, but regret the order! my two sons have one middle each but my older son gave himself a second middle as a child , [name_m]Panda[/name_m] after his favorite animal. [name_f]Adorable[/name_f]!
