We are having the most trouble coming up with a girl name that both me and hubby love. So far the ones that have made it to our short list are:
[name]Haylee[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name]
I’d like to have middle names that start with the same letter as the first name ends (ex. [name]Hayle[/name]e Ever).
Would love any suggestions for middle names for either [name]Haylee[/name] or [name]Lillian[/name] or any other pretty sounding names. I also love [name]Elle[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] but they have recently been used by friends. They have to be pretty normal names because Hubby hates any unusual names.
Re: your middle name choices, in general picking a middle which starts with the same sound the first name ends on causes the two to blur together. Ex: [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nora[/name], said quickly, becomes Lilianora.
[name]Hayley[/name] is a pretty name but extremely trendy-- especially 5 or so years ago. There are so many girls born with names rhyming with [name]Hayley[/name] ([name]Kayley[/name], [name]Bailey[/name]) and spelling variations ([name]Haleigh[/name] [name]Haley[/name] [name]Hayley[/name] [name]Haylee[/name] [name]Hailee[/name] [name]Haileigh[/name]…) that a baby [name]Haylee[/name] would easily get lost in the crowd.
[name]Lillian[/name] is very pretty and very dignified. You might also like:
I second what blade said about [name]Haylee[/name]. I would stick with the much more classic and timeless [name]Lillian[/name].
Because of the consonant ending I would try to find a middle name that starts with a vowel. And because the first name is distinguished [name]IMO[/name] you can opt for a slightly more adventurous middle if you’d like.
I understand that the middle name thing causes the two names to run together but it a family tradition I’d like to keep if I can. I just didn’t realize how hard it would be to find a middle name that way!
I’m also open to suggestions of other names. I never thought naming a girl would be so hard. We had our boy names picked out right away. I’m a bit more partial to [name]Lillian[/name] because I think it is a really pretty name that can easily be shortened. Hubby likes them both but leans more toward [name]Haylee[/name]. I just keep hoping we’ll hear that one name that will be perfect. These two are the closest we’ve come to that so far (or at least the only two we can both agree on so far)
Allrighty, let’s work on the lovely [name]Lillian[/name]. Since it has 3 syllables, either a 1 or 2-syllable middle will be best for flow.
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nicole[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nadine[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] Narelle (this is an indigenous Australian name, very pretty)
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nerys[/name] (meaning ‘sean nymph’)
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nahla[/name] (meaning “refreshing as a drink of water”)
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nell[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Neve[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nyssa[/name] (a place in ancient Christianity)
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Norah[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nadia[/name]
The problem with Narelle is its very dated here and seen as a bogan name kind of like [name]Kylie[/name]. It was popular in the 70’s.
I really like [name]Blade[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Neve[/name] either spelt [name]Neve[/name] or [name]Niamh[/name].
Maybe:
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Noa[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Natalie[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nancy[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Natasha[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nerida[/name] (indigenous australian meaning water-lily kind of dated here though)
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nina[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Noemi[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nola[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Nova[/name]
