We have a blended family of four boys - [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], & [name_m]Desmond[/name_m]. What do you think of [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] “[name_f]Rose[/name_f]” and [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] “[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]” as sisters for them? [name_f]Do[/name_f] they fit overall?
Also, is it weird to have an aunt by marriage whom I never talk to by the name [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] and name a daughter, [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]? The name is because I’m a big fan of [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] Ball, so much that I have a quote of hers tattooed on my arm.
I love [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] together! With their brothers’ names too.
I don’t think it matters that you have a relative by the name, it won’t be too hard to figure out it’s because of your tattoo. Plus she’ll go by [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], not [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], at least while she’s younger.
If you like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] (could still honor [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] Ball with just [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] if that’s what you want!) you could also use [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f], [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Luciana[/name_f].
I like these as sisters! Considering they are both “fussier” names, I think they compliment each other well. Either could overpower a lot of other names, but I think they also go well with the boys.
I guess it comes down to the extent that you talk to this aunt. Is it in the literally never category? [name_f]Do[/name_f] the family members you do talk to communicate with her much? I guess it comes down to how little of contact you all have whether it will even be noticed.
My mom has a huge family we rarely talk to or speak of. She gave my brother her first cousin’s name after she legitimately forgot he was named that. Her other cousin gave her daughter my name. I’ve seen her maybe three times. Honestly it’s never been an issue, despite all living in the same area.
I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] fit well, and [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], for that matter, but I don’t think [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] quite suits the sibling set, as it feels a bit too fanciful in comparison. I feel like just [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would work beautifully, or [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] fit very nicely as sisters and with your boys names! [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] isn’t my personal style, but if I really liked a name I don’t think I’d let a relative having the name sway me from choosing it. You have your personal reason for loving the name, So I say use it!
Those names go perfect with your boys and perfect together. I wouldn’t let a relative you never see stop you from using [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]… But if you’ll look at my signature you’ll see that I’m very biased.
My daughter [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] is named after [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] Ball. She has so much spunk and I don’t think there’s a name in the world that would fit her better. We also planned to call her [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but actually that never felt right. She’s always [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] sometimes [name_f]Lulu[/name_f].
Good luck.
My nn is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and I have a great aunt named [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] that I did not see a lot growing up. Some people in the larger extended family that I don’t see much either think my “real” name is [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] after my great aunt (they know [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a nn for something). But other than this very minor issue which doesn’t bother me at all, it hasn’t been an issue. All this to say, I would not worry about it since you don’t have a lot of contact.
