[name]How[/name] many children [name]Will[/name] and [name]Kate[/name] are planning? [name]One[/name]? Two? Three? You could guess their names.
I am hoping for little [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Arthur[/name] or [name]Edmund[/name]. What are your thoughts and hopes?
I was pleased when I hear little prince of Cambridge’s name is [name]George[/name]. Then I realized that this makes princess [name]Georgina[/name] “not-going-to-happen”. Argh. Could little future princess of [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Will[/name] be named [name]Georgina[/name] still? Or in the middle ([name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Georgina[/name] [name]Diane[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Frances[/name] [name]Georgina[/name])?
Now that the heir is born I am hoping that the couple will have more freedom and show some independence (and guts) to name a girl [name]Diana[/name]. The [name]Royal[/name] Family has tried so hard to write her out of history. I don’t think they’ll use any other forms of [name]George[/name]. I would love for them to choose [name]Arthur[/name] or [name]Alfred[/name] for a boy. [name]Edmund[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] are the names of two of [name]Diana[/name]'s brother [name]Earl[/name] [name]Spencer[/name]'s children so I have my doubts about them too.
I heard that they want a large family, so I can see maybe 2 or 3 more siblings for [name]George[/name].
If I had to guess some names, I would say [name]Abigail[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Eric[/name], [name]Helena[/name], [name]Lawrence[/name], and [name]Margaret[/name]
I’d guess they’ll want one or two more (heir and the spares).
[name]Prince[/name] [name]George[/name], [name]Princess[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], and [name]Prince[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Prince[/name] [name]George[/name], [name]Princess[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], and [name]Princess[/name] [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Prince[/name] [name]George[/name], [name]Prince[/name] [name]Theodore[/name], and [name]Prince[/name] [name]John[/name]
For a girl, I think [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Diana[/name] [name]Mary[/name] would be nice. [name]Elizabeth[/name] is just such a versatile name ([name]Liz[/name], [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Lizzie[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Beth[/name], [name]Libby[/name], Liddy, etc). I think [name]George[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] would be a great set, but I doubt they’d go there.
I could see an [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Victoria[/name] for a girl. I’m hoping they don’t do [name]Mary[/name] since I worry the name might come back popularity wise and I like that I gave my daughter a very traditional name but not one that is in the top 100. I wouldn’t want them to do a first name [name]Diana[/name] because I think that poor child would always be compared to her namesake. And I say that as somebody who named my daughter after my deceased mother but my daughter will never have to have kids at school, the media or random people she meets compare her to her grandmother.
For a boy I think they’ll stick to traditional names and could see an [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Henry[/name] (not called [name]Harry[/name]) or [name]Frederick[/name].
The could use a feminine form of [name]George[/name] still. The [name]Queen[/name] mother was [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] and she had a sister named [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]William[/name] said last year on his [name]Jubilee[/name] tour that he’d like to have two children. That leaves one more then…
I think they’ll be more ‘out there’ with the next child, within reason. They’ve insisted that [name]Prince[/name] [name]George[/name]'s names are all favourites and don’t honour anyone which shows they’re a little more liberal than past royals. However, as [name]Alexander[/name] was [name]Kate[/name]'s absolute favourite yet they still went with [name]George[/name] for a FN, I think that reveals that they still want to follow royal naming traditions.
Knowing that the names they picked are ones they purely liked, we can conjecture they’re into traditional classics, as predicted. Bye bye [name]Abigail[/name], [name]Lachlan[/name] or whatever other more ‘common’ names people have suggested. Again, I doubt [name]Henry[/name], [name]Diana[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Charles[/name] and [name]James[/name] will be used. I just can’t see them naming a child after their siblings or [name]William[/name]'s father. The [name]Queen[/name] has apparently said she wouldn’t like another [name]Elizabeth[/name] (though I can definitely see it in the middle spot) and [name]Diana[/name] (apart from being kind of dated here) has too strong a connection. And I still doubt [name]Diana[/name] will be used in the middle too. I think they’ll be more subtle and use [name]Frances[/name]/[name]Francis[/name] if they like it (NOT [name]Spencer[/name]!). For girls, [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Mary[/name] are good shots. [name]Alfred[/name], [name]Edmund[/name], [name]John[/name] (rebels!), [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Frederick[/name] and [name]Richard[/name] still look good for boys. Or perhaps they’ll really break the mould and go for [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Peter[/name], [name]Joseph[/name] or [name]Thomas[/name]
As for the usage of a feminine form [name]George[/name]- I don’t think so. They’ve already used [name]George[/name]. Why use another [name]George[/name] name? Not sure what the above poster means because The [name]Queen[/name] mother was [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Angela[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] and she didn’t have a sister called [name]Margaret[/name] (wouldn’t matter anyway as she wasn’t born into the royal family). The [name]Queen[/name] is [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Mary[/name] with a sister named [name]Margaret[/name]. The argument doesn’t exist there.
I think with future children, they can be a little more adventurous, whilst still sticking to the classic/traditional theme. I, personally, would love to see a [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and/or a [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. Really hope they do not use [name_f]Diana[/name_f], she was not a good namesake! I’m sure whatever they choose, it will be a beautiful name like [name_m]George[/name_m]'s.
