Princess names?

Is Cinderela [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] not usable??
I know Cinderela has a strong conection to the disney princess but Cinderela could go as nn [name_f]Cindy[/name_f], and Cinderela [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] could be [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
I also love the name [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], so they would both be little princesses
And now that I think about it [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] is also so sweet
Probably won’t Name my girl like that, it’s just my guilty pleasure of the day
And what about: Jasmine, Ariel, Moana, Tiana, Belle…

Cinderela is pretty but I do think the princess association would be pretty much everyone’s association every time, if that doesn’t bother you then I say go for it!

If you’re fine with “after princess?” comments every day, it’s okay.

I don’t love the idea of Cinderela, unfortunately.
First of all, people would misspell it as [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] because of the princess, which is the only association.

Secondly, the way [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] became a name isn’t a nice story in the fairy tale. The name [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] was a mean-spirited nickname from her abusive family because they made her clean the cinders of the fireplace. Not something I’d want to name a kid after, even if the sound is lovely.

What about [name_f]Cerelia[/name_f], [name_f]Celestia[/name_f], [name_f]Celestina[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], [name_f]Serena[/name_f], [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]?

Sorry, but I really don’t think Cinderela / [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] is usable. I wouldn’t want my name to be [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f], and I think most women wouldn’t either. The fairy tale connotation is much too strong and I can see someone with this name getting mocked about it, unfortunately.

I really like [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].

It’s a bit much for me if I’m honest. [name_f]Tiana[/name_f], [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] feel more usable

So, honestly, I think [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] is a beautiful name. (And I know some people say it’s a mean nickname, but in the 1950 Disney movie, it was just her name, which I like because it does have a very pretty sound.) That said, I really do think that the fairy tale association is just too strong to make it wearable irl. It’s best as a gp, as you said. But a lovely gp it is, imo!

Rapunzel, much like [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f], is kind of a one-person name. [name_f]Moana[/name_f] could be usable, but I feel like it is very Hawaiian/Polynesian and probably not best used by someone who does not have that heritage. But [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], [name_u]Ariel[/name_u], [name_f]Tiana[/name_f], and [name_f]Belle[/name_f] all seem quite wearable to me! [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names. There’s also [name_f]Merida[/name_f] or even [name_f]Megara[/name_f] for something more unique, along the lines of [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] – I know it’s an ugly stepsister name, but it was also the name of an animated princess.

A name like [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] which I think is way more useable is [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f].

In the live action [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f], her name is just [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I think that is super sweet on its own! You could have [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] has a nickname in the home if you wanted. [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] (to get that ‘zel’ from [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f]). [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] as sisters is plenty princessy!

I don’t love [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f], maybe because I was called that my entire childhood. I do love the idea, though!
I actually know a [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f], an [name_u]Ariel[/name_u], and a [name_f]Tiana[/name_f]. [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is very usable, but I wouldn’t use [name_f]Moana[/name_f] if I wasn’t from that heritage. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is totally usable, and [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] is actually the name of an herb, not just that princess!

Other princess names:
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] ([name_f]Elena[/name_f] of Avalor- and on that note- [name_f]Avalon[/name_f]!), [name_f]Anna[/name_f]/Elsa, [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] (her sister’s name, [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f], is also beautiful), and [name_f]Merida[/name_f].
There’s so many alternatives, as well! As other people have said, [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], and so on. In the 90’s remake of [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f], her name was [name_f]Danielle[/name_f].

Maeva is beautiful, by the way!

Cinderela and [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] are absolutely not usable, same with [name_f]Moana[/name_f], not only because the association with the Disney [name_f]Princess[/name_f] is immediate but also because these names were made up exclusively for the character so they don’t have a history apart from that. This is not the case with [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], which is a Latin name with an ancient history, same with [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Belle[/name_f], [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]…
[name_f]Tiana[/name_f] I think it’s made up, I’m not sure to be honest but I find it usable.
I suggest you [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] [name_f]Neve[/name_f] which is the Italian [name_f]Princess[/name_f] name of “[name_u]Snow[/name_u] White” and it could be more usable…

I think the [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] association is too strong for me. However, I think names like [name_f]Tiana[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] and [name_f]Belle[/name_f] are more usable.
