My husband and I have been on opposite ends of the naming spectrum. We just could not seem to agree on a name for our daughter until we came across [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. We both really love it. Then I realized our last name starts with U, making her initials FU  I am so sad because we both actually agree on the name! [name_f]Do[/name_f] we need to nix it??
Can’t you just give her a middle name? That solves the problem pretty easily. You could also use a longer variation that starts with a different letter, and use [name_f]Faye[/name_f] as a nn (i.e [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]).
It is rather obvious… perhaps you could use [name_f]Faye[/name_f] as a nickname? [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] could work.
Oh yes, we will be using the middle name [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]. So the full initials will be FEU. I just feel like when I initial forms, I just use my first and last. I guess I could teach her to use all three? I’m not really a nickname person, so was hoping to find a name without a nickname.
Honestly I don’t really see it as a problem since she will have a middle name since her actual initials are F.E.U. I wouldn’t let initials (which aren’t even representing her full name) ruin a name you both love.
I’m a teacher and I often will note things with my students’ first initial and last name initial. [name_m]Just[/name_m] food for thought that it is not only you and your daughter that may be using the initials. Having said that, I should add that my daughter’s last name starts with a P and I named her [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f] [name_f]Noemi[/name_f], so she is PNP, but if just first and last, PP. I figure I just have to make sure I instill enough confidence in her so that little taunts don’t bother her as she grows.
