Promise, Primrose, and Maisy

My husband loves [name]Maisy[/name]. There might be another spelling he loves, not sure.

[name]Long[/name] ago, I loved [name]Promise[/name]. There was a little girl at a church I visited for something named [name]Promise[/name]. I loved the name from the moment I heard it. I never was able to sell anyone on the name.

Then recently, I heard [name]Primrose[/name] here, on these boards. I love it too! When I mention it to people, they reference Hunger Games. I am not worried about that though. Not like my child will show up at kindergarten and all the other Kindergartners will make jokes about Hunger Games. No one will remember by then. And by the time babies born now can see the movie or read the book, well, they just might not be interested. Kids do not tend to be interested in stuff that was popular in their parents generations. So, does not matter. (and not like [name]Primrose[/name] in that movie was a bad person in that movie anyway).

So the point is, I have loved the name [name]Promise[/name] for so long. And I really like [name]Primrose[/name] now that I have heard of it. But I think I would go with [name]Promise[/name]. What do you think?

As far as a middle name goes…I am out of namesakes for the middle basically. So it would be ok with me to use [name]Maisy[/name] in the middle. My husband really wants to use [name]Maisy[/name] as a first name.

I really, really like [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Primrose[/name].

[name]Promise[/name] is really not my style, nor does it lend itself to any NN.

[name]Primrose[/name] is great as a first name, and [name]Posy[/name] is sweet as anything. [name]Primrose[/name] [name]Maisy[/name] (I prefer [name]Maisie[/name]) is also sweet.

[name]Maisie[/name] is pretty and sweet

I absolutely love the name [name]Promise[/name] and [name]Maisy[/name] (though I prefer the [name]Maisie[/name] spelling). [name]Primrose[/name] is pretty though I prefer your other choices. [name]Maisy[/name] [name]Promise[/name] would be really nice or [name]Maisy[/name] [name]Primrose[/name]. As for middle’s for [name]Promise[/name] & [name]Primrose[/name]

[name]Promise[/name] [name]Lucille[/name](had this on my list)
[name]Promise[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name]
[name]Promise[/name] [name]Viola[/name]
[name]Promise[/name] [name]Natalie[/name]
[name]Promise[/name] [name]Juliet/name

[name]Primrose[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Primrose[/name] [name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Primrose[/name] [name]Annaliese[/name]
[name]Primrose[/name] [name]Henriette[/name]

hope these help

Agreed!

I also like:
[name]Primrose[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Primrose[/name] [name]Selena[/name]
[name]Primrose[/name] [name]Calista[/name]

I like [name]Maisy[/name], although I prefer [name]Maisie[/name]. Neither [name]Promise[/name] not [name]Primrose[/name] are my style, but I think either would work as a middle name. [name]Maisy[/name]/[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Promise[/name] or [name]Maisy[/name]/[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Primrose[/name].

I agree with [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Primrose[/name]!! So pretty!

Another vote for [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Primrose[/name]! So beautiful. I agree [name]Primrose[/name] isn’t a bad association.

I totally get where you are coming from with [name]Promise[/name]. (Not that [name]Promise[/name] is my style, usually word names aren’t so much with the exception of [name]Prosper[/name] - I read it in a book and I’m in love and have been for years. Nobody get’s it.)

I also love [name]Primrose[/name] and wouldn’t be so worried about the associations with it. From all the characters in HG she really is one that it through and through a good person and very likable. (I got incredibly annoyed at [name]Katniss[/name] and her compadres though out the series).

I think [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Promise[/name] or [name]Promise[/name] [name]Maisie[/name] would be very cute. I know others don’t think that [name]Promise[/name] lends itself to nn’s but I disagree. I think [name]Missy[/name] and [name]Issie[/name] would be great nn for [name]Promise[/name].

I wouldn’t do [name]Promise[/name], it’s a strong word and I’m not a fan of word names to begin with. Maybe as a middle, but I would avoid it as a first name because to me saying “I promise, promise, that I’ll be back” would sound funny compared to “I promise, primrose, I’ll be back” Not saying that that phrase would ever be said to her, but it could… to me it would just be awkward, but it’s all my opinion.

I think I’d go with [name]Primrose[/name] or [name]Maisy[/name].

I think [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Promise[/name] would be really cute. You both your get favorites. I think [name]Promise[/name] wouldn’t be the easiest first name to have, but I do see the appeal. [name]Missy[/name] could be a nickname for it though, which is kind of close to [name]Maisy[/name]/[name]Maisie[/name].

I like [name]Maisie[/name] or [name]Maisy[/name] much better than the other two.
