Pronounce Mairwen

I’d love to know how to pronounce this name. I know it’s Welsh, so I’m not really sure. [name]Mare[/name]-wen?

I think renrose is correct-- the two vowels are pronounced somewhat separately (Welsh kind of separates diphthongs). [name]Imagine[/name] pronouncing an ahh + eeee very quickly. It becomes a long I, like Mah-ee-rwen = MIRE-wen.

Thanks [name]Blade[/name]. I sort of like mare-wen better, but mire-wen sounds nice too and sounds good with the first name I was pairing it with so

I can see how any of them coud be correct but at first glance I would say mare-wen.

It is pronounced [name_f]May[/name_f]-er-wen. Though I think that My-er-wen or [name_f]Mare[/name_f]-wen sound prettier.

I thought [name_f]MARE[/name_f]-wen (like the beginning of [name_f]Mary[/name_f]). I like it, probably because I love Merewen. But I think the pronunciation (of Merewen) is just a little less confusing.
