I say [name_u]Nick[/name_u]-OLL. [name_m]Both[/name_m] syllables short and intonation on the last part.
I pronounce it Nih-[name_m]COLE[/name_m].
Nih-cole. Never heard of nee-cole.
Nih-cole.
Nih-[name_m]COLE[/name_m]. NEE-cole is closer to how the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronounce it, I believe.
[name_m]French[/name_m] speakers = nee
English speakers = nih
[name_m]Both[/name_m] pronunciations are acceptable.
I pronounce [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] ([name_u]Nick[/name_u]-Oll). My best friend’s mom is [name_m]French[/name_m], though, and she always calls her Nee-Cohl
I’ve never heard it pronounced any way other than Nih-cole. I agree with the other posts though that it’s probably “nih” in the States and “nee” in Europe.
Thanks. My friend just had a [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] and we are both in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] and speak English but I noticed that I say NickOLL and she says Nih-cole so I was wondering.
