Pronounce This Name

Please tell me (without googling it or looking it up on NB) how you’d pronounce [name_f]Sari[/name_f].

“Sorry”

Or

“SARE-ee” ?

I would assume SAWR-ee, similar to the word sorry or the [name_f]Indian[/name_f] garment

“Sorry” which is the same as sawr-ee and sar-ee for me.

Sar-ee as well!

Another Sar-ee, rhyming with car

Is this different from how you say “sorry”?

Another vote for SAR-ee, first syllable rhyming with car!

Sah-ree

Does the first syllable of sorry not rhyme with car?

I would say sah-ree – basically like ‘sorry’.

pretty much, but if I really listen carefully, they sound just the tiniest bit different in my accent (and the way I’m saying [name_f]Sari[/name_f]–I have no idea if I’m right!)

This is a British vs American kind of a thing: SORRY | Pronunciation in English

I would say Sah-rye ? That pronounciatuon.

OP here. So if I want the “SARE-ee”pronunciation how should I spell it?

Sairy
Seri, short for [name_f]Serena[/name_f] or [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
Sairey (like Sairey Gamp; a negative association)
Sairie

[name_u]Or[/name_u] other ideas?

Thanks! You know I think it has more to do with the car pronunciation since the sorry one sounds quite similar to me! Pesky vowels…

Sairey would be my top pick for that pronunciation. But Sairy would work I just don’t like how close it is to Hairy. I think Seri would be just like [name_f]Suri[/name_f]. Sairie would also work.
