Pronounciation of Isabella?

In both of my jobs, I interact with a lot of elderly people. Recently, I’ve noticed both of the elderly Isabellas I see frequently pronounce it Eye-za-bell-ah, rather than Ih-za-bell-ah. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering if anybody else has come across this pronounciation or if its just a local thing.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard Eye-zah-bell-uh. Maybe Ee-zah-bell-uh in some accents but mostly just the Ih-zah one.

I never ever heard Eye-zah one. It’s always Ee-zah-bell-ah or Ih-za-bell-ah.

Ditto to this!

Same here!

Agree with pp, I have only heard the ee-zuh-beh-luh or ih-zah-bell-uh pronunciations

I feel like I only ever hear Iz-uh-bell-uh (most common), and occasionally Ee-suh-bell-uh, but never an “eye” sound at the beginning.
