I love the name Caelia (Latin meaning [name_f]Heaven[/name_f]), and it’s pronounced [name_u]Kay[/name_u]-lee-ah. But does anyone know if the emphasis is placed on the first or second syllable? So is it [name_u]KAY[/name_u]-leeah or [name_u]Kay[/name_u]-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-ah?
I also love the name [name_f]Callia[/name_f] but prefer the pronunciation Cuh-lee-ah versus [name_u]Cal[/name_u]-ee-ah because it just comes out easier that way for me. [name_f]Every[/name_f] site seems to say something different regarding the correct pronunciation. Does anyone know which way is really correct?
I’m not sure of the correct pn. for Caelia but my instincts say [name_u]KAY[/name_u]-lee-uh. I would pn. [name_f]Callia[/name_f], [name_u]Cal[/name_u]-ee-uh. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are nice names
I’d pronounce Caelia just like [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f] but with an “uh” sound at the end (kay-lee-uh). [name_f]Callia[/name_f] would be cal-ee-uh or [name_f]Callie[/name_f] with an “uh” sound at the end…
I would say [name_u]KAY[/name_u]-lee-ah (like [name_f]Celia[/name_f] is CEE-lee-ah).
[name_f]Callia[/name_f] I would say [name_u]Cal[/name_u]-ee-ah; I don’t think it makes sense for “call” to be read as “cuhl”. [name_f]Calia[/name_f] would be kuh-lee-ah.
I’d pronounce Caelia kay-lee-uh (like [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f] with an uh sound at the end). I had a character named [name_f]Callia[/name_f], but I changed her name, and I pronounced her name [name_f]Callie[/name_f]-uh, and I think it is the more intuitive pronunciation. Not sure how Cuh-lee-uh would be spelled.
