I love the name [name]Lucia[/name] pn Loo-chee-a but I’m afraid everyone will pn it Loo-sha. Also my last name starts with sh so I’m not sure if this name works well with my last name with either pronunciation. What do you guys think, is this name usable with a last name starting with sh? Also which pn of [name]Lucia[/name] is more common of the two I mentioned?

Around here, [name]Lucia[/name] would be pronounced loo-see-uh.
The only [name]Lucia[/name] I know pronounces her name “Loo-see-ah”.
Loo-sha definitely wouldn’t work with a last name starting with sh, the repeditive sound makes it difficult to say. [name]Lu[/name]-chee-ah is a little better, but the chee and sh sounds together isn’t something I prefer.
I live in the south eastern part of the U.S. I like the pn Loo-see-a as well but the other two seem more common. If I used the name I would like to use the pn most commonly used in [name]Italy[/name] to reflect my Italian heritage.
I have only ever heard this name pronounced either Loo-cee-ah or loo-chee-ah. I prefer Loo-cee-ah, but that is because it’s the Spanish pronunciation.
The pronunciation problems of [name]Lucia[/name] is why it’s off my list. I say lou-SEE-uh, although [name]Lou[/name]-shuh and [name]Lu[/name]-CHEE-uh are growing on me. But my first name is so difficult pronunciation wise that I’m changing it, and so pronunciation that is obvious or common sense ([name]Isla[/name]'s borderline for me), is a must for names on my list.
I’ve always thought it was pronounced loo-see-uh also. But I have a friend whose daughter is named after her great grandmother [name]Leila[/name], pronounced lee-eye-la, not lay-la. She will always have to teach people how to pronounce her name the first time, but it really isn’t the end of the world. I like loo-chee-uh.
If your last name starts with a Sh- then I think the best pronunciation would be Loo-see-uh. That is also how I always first pronounce it.
Where I live, it would only be [name]Lu[/name] see uh. I really don’t care for the [name]Lu[/name] chee a prn. Reminds me of a chia pet.
I know two here in the Northeast, both pronounce it Loo-chee-ah.
I love [name]Lucia[/name]! Lately I’ve been saying it the Italian way, loo-CHEE-ah, too. Although LOO-shah is my second favorite. 
Here, since there’s a large Hispanic population in my area, I figured it would be said like loo-SEE-uh, but the only time I’ve really heard it said here, it was LOO-shah. But I don’t think people would bat an eye if they found out it was loo-see-ah or loo-chee-uh. I agree with some of the other posters, I think it depends on where you are. [name]Do[/name] you have a high Hispanic/Latino/Scandinavian population in your area? I think that would sway it. And all three pronunciations are fairly common so I think it wouldn’t be too hard to enforce the prn. you want (although I also think that means it’ll be much less likely for it to be said right the first time around).
