Pronunciation question?

Are [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] pronuncied the same?
If so is this a hard rule or would it be not only possible because most things are possible but not unusually for [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] to have the h in it pronounced? Not overly harshly, somewhat like the first half of Johanasberg is pronounced?

I’ve known people named [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] who have pronounced it the same as [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], and others who pronounce it “jo-hanna”. I don’t think there’s any particular rule, at least not around here.

I pronounce them differently.
[name_u]Jo[/name_u]- [name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_u]Jo[/name_u]- [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]

This is how I prn as well.

[name_f]Joanna[/name_f]: joe-anne-uh
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f]: joe-hannah or joe-hahn-uh

I agree:
[name_u]Jo[/name_u]-[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_u]Jo[/name_u]-[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]

[name_f]Joanna[/name_f] - jo-anna
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] ([name_m]German[/name_m] spelling): yo-hah-nah

I pronounce the J and the h in [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]. I vary between han and hahn as the 2nd syllable.

Same as [name_u]Mischa[/name_u] - I would pronounce [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] as “yo-hah-nah” unless otherwise notified as I knew one as a child.
