Pronunciation? sorry if this is a stupid question!

i’ve never heard this name before nameberry so i’m not sure!

callum:

is is cay-lum or ca(with an a like apple)-lum?

I’ve always pronounced it [name]CAL[/name]-UM. Like [name]Calvin[/name]…with an UM. hehe

that’s what i thought, but one of my friends said they knew a cay-lum and it threw me off! thanks for clearing that up

i teach a boy with this name and its a short a sound ( like in apple ) x

but one of my friends said they knew a cay-lum and it threw me off!

Maybe that was a Caelum? That name isn’t listed here, but I seem to recall having seen it somewhere…

Its [name]CAL[/name]-um with a short a sound.

I know a few guys named [name]Callum[/name], they all pronounce it Cah-[name]Lum[/name] (with a strong a sound- yep, as in [name]Apple[/name])

Yes, short a, as in apple or [name]Allison[/name], at least in the US. Can the British berries, who are much more familiar with the name, enlighten us on how it’s pronounced there?

It’s a short ‘A’ sound, as in ‘apple’, in the UK.

I’m British! And as I said before, its Cah-[name]Lum[/name] (with the “a” as in [name]Apple[/name])

Short ‘A’ in [name]Britain[/name], Australia and NZ.
