[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering your thoughts. Thanks!
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] is sweet and pretty!
Pros
Easy to spell and pronounce
International, travels well
[name_u]Light[/name_u], bright, simple, pretty
Some great namesakes, like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m]
Cons
Popularity is the only one that really springs to mind!
Means “she” in some languages, which could get a tad confusing depending on where she travels
Pros
It’s pretty versatile as far as the kind of person it works for
It’s easy to spell & remember
Cons
It’s popularity. And not only Ella’s popularity, but [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], etc. [name_f]El[/name_f]- names are very big right and and there’s lots of little girls running around with [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a full name, nickname, or something really similar
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]:
Pros:
Simple
Elegant
Fits any age
Easy to spell
Common so people will know how to pronounce/spell
Has more than one nn
Cons:
Too common, where [name_f]Ella[/name_f] might be an [name_f]Ella[/name_f] R, or something
A little bit overdone
And what the pp mentioned about [name_f]Ella[/name_f] being referred as “she” in languages
Pros:
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] has various positive meanings
She will have an easy time learning how to read and write her name.
Cons:
Ella’s popularity dulls its shine for some.
It’s simplicity can be seen as a charm or a bit bland.
(I’m an [name_f]Ella[/name_f] fan myself. One of the most beautiful souls I ever looked after when I worked in childcare was an Ella!)
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
Pros:
Simple
Glamours
[name_m]Classic[/name_m]
[name_f]Pretty[/name_f]
Cons:
Popular
Nick-name-y
The pros win! I love [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. It gives me that roaring 20s vibe that’s so much fun. It is really quite common though, but it doesn’t feel trendy. It feels more classic & popular. And I like it as a nn too slightly more than a full name. If you did something like [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f], [name_f]Estella[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] or [name_f]Mariella[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f], she may stand out from all of the other Ellas a little bit more?
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is a very soft and gentle name, giving me real 1920s vibes! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s very popular, I like it a lot more than [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] or [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].
Firstly I’m very bias towards [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as my daughter has [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as her second middle name so of course I love it
Pros:
[name_f]Pretty[/name_f]
Elegant
Timeless
Simple very easy to spell/pronounce
International
As @katinka said some great namesakes such as [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m]
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] meaning ‘fairy maiden’ to me that’s such a sparkly meaning so pretty 🧚🏻♀️
Cons:
[name_m]Can[/name_m] be mistaken for a nickname
Could blend in with all the other ‘Ellie’ names that are popular and also [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is in general a popular name
Again as @katinka said means ‘she’ in some languages which could be confusing depending on where she travels
Of course [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is for the win she definitely has more pros then cons. [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is gorgeous!
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] pros:
- has a light, airy feel
- cute meaning
- familiar, easy to spell and pronounce
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] cons:
- popular and has been popular for a long time
- might get lost among the Isabellas, Arabellas, Bellas etc or among the Ellies, Elles, Elianas, Elsies and Eleanors
