Proud Auntie

My brother and his wife are looking for boys names. We were talking tonight and Remment ([name_m]Rem[/name_m] for short) was suggested. Their last name is Holverstott and they have a little girl named [name_f]Isadora[/name_f]. Any disagree with the pairing?

Remment? Remnant?

What about [name_u]Remy[/name_u]? It’s a gorgeous name. I’ve never heard of Remment before and I don’t like the sound of it.

[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] is gorgeous. I think [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] and [name_u]Remy[/name_u] would be a lovely sibset.

I’m not a huge fan of Remment. I skimmed over the paragraph at first and saw it as ‘remnant’. I think that could be an issue.

I dislike the two in a sibset. They feel like they have very different styles to me. Remment, though an older name, feels more modern. [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] and [name_m]Reimund[/name_m] (or [name_u]Remy[/name_u] as sarahmezz suggested) would fit more stylistically.

I don’t care for the name either. I agree with the other responders- looks like Remnant.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Redmond[/name_m]? [name_u]Reid[/name_u]?

If your bro and sis-in-law aren’t completely fixated in [name_u]Remy[/name_u] yet, how about other “Antique” names? [name_m]Henry[/name_m]? [name_m]Charles[/name_m]? [name_m]Jonah[/name_m]?

([name_f]LOVE[/name_f] Isdora, BTW)

It seems very Dutch to me. I like it! [name_m]Rem[/name_m] is very cool.

[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] and [name_u]Remy[/name_u] as @sarahmezz suggested would be perfect. Remment doesn’t have a very nice sound, in my opinion. Sorry.

Like sarahmezz, I love [name_u]Remy[/name_u]. I don’t like Remment either; it does look like remnant at first glance. But something like [name_m]Rembrandt[/name_m] could be nice and lend itself to nn [name_m]Rem[/name_m] or [name_u]Remy[/name_u].

Another vote for [name_u]Remy[/name_u]. [name_m]Rembrandt[/name_m] or Remiel might work too. Remment looks and sounds like “remnant” though.
