Qetsiyah

I like the meaning/background. I don’t mind the spelling.

But is it more or less usable than [name]Ketzia[/name]?

Or would it be better to use [name]Kezia[/name]/[name]Keziah[/name] and push for a pronunciation of keh-zee-uh rather than keh-ZYE-uh? Would [name]Kezia[/name] be easier to see as kez-ee-uh than the -iah ending?

And does anything with a Q not followed by a u need to be a MN at most, because as a FN its just too hard?

What do you think when you see Qetsiyah?

I think this one may be too complicated. Fwiw for me [name]Kezia[/name] is keh-zee-ah

Yeah, any time a Q isn’t followed by a U, it seems a bit out-of-sorts. [name]Ketzia[/name] is a nice name, though. Or what about Ketsia? I like it… maybe because it reminds me of the name Kestia (alt form of Alcestia).

The spelling is a mess… It’s kind of a nightmare… [name]How[/name] about Kestrel like the bird… Spell [name]Kazia[/name]/[name]Keziah[/name] the traditional way… [name]Ketzia[/name]… is ok

[name]Kezia[/name]/[name]Keziah[/name] is really pretty. I honestly was unsure on how to pronounce Qetsiyah.

Qetsiyah reminds me of the name of that child actress, Quvenzhané [name]Wallis[/name] for some reason, haha! (Probably because people have trouble pronouncing her name, too.)

Qetsiyah makes me think of the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl.

Qetsiyah is definitely not one I’m a fan of. It’s too complicated looking and unnessarily so. [name]Ketzia[/name] is far better.

I was fairly sure Qetsiyah is prn like [name]Ketzia[/name], but I’ve done so much studies in languages that I’m not the norm. [name]Ketzia[/name] looks far more simpler and elegant.
Did a quick Google on Qetsiyah- it is a legit name, but I don’t think it would work well on a girl of Western descent.

The only reason I know how Qetsiyah is pronounced is because of TVD. I would go with the easier [name]Ketzia[/name].

Our child would be mixed. Well, I guess it depends on how you define “Western descent.” But yeah.

I am leaning towards Ketzia being simpler and more easily accepted though, without wrecking the pronunciation THAT badly.

I have seen some Middle Eastern names on NB before but not Qetsiyah/Ketzia so I was wondering how it would be seen. I see Zipporah a lot for some reason.

I wouldn’t mind that. There’s a tz/ts sort of buzzy sound in Qetsiyah/Ketzia that Kezia doesn’t have, but its mostly the hard EYE pronunciation that’d be a total dealbreaker.
