[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! Not currently pregnant but always thinking about Sc0ut’s (g)possible future sibling’s names. For various reasons, it would be a bonus if a potential sister name started with “B”, but, unfortunately, I’m not coming up with a ton that I both love and feel “fits” with [name_u]Scout[/name_u]. My main thoughts are listed below, but I’d love to hear any and all suggestions for “B” names for Sc0ut’s sister!
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - a long time love that’s been all but ruled out because it’s too different from Sc0ut
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] - another long time favorite that feels maybe a bit too uppercrust [name_m]New[/name_m] Englandy next to Sc0ut. I love how sleek and unisex it is. DH doesn’t like that we distantly know someone with this name and aren’t huge fans of her family
[name_f]Birdie[/name_f] - I like that it is rare and feels fresh and somewhat nicknamey. It might be a bit too girly and “sweet” next to her sister though
[name_u]Beck[/name_u] - a relatively new favorite. I like that it has the sleek unisexness of [name_u]Blair[/name_u] but is also a bit nicknamey. My primary concern is the show You becoming so popular and concern that Sc0ut and [name_u]Beck[/name_u] may lean more male than female as a pair (still undecided on that point)
A user here has little girls called [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] (i remember the announcement was 3? years ago) and i have always found them adorable together. You can always use [name_m]Bix[/name_m] or [name_f]Bee[/name_f] as nicknames.
I think [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] compliments Sc0ut perfectly. However, if [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is a long time love of yours I don’t think it should matter how different it is from Sc0ut. They are individual people. Besides, [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] may not be the perfect style match to her sister but [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is.
Other ideas: [name_f]Briar[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Bridey[/name_f], [name_f]Bianca[/name_f]?
I think that [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_u]Scout[/name_u] work really well together, actually! They both have lots of quirk and spunk, and are connected to literature. I also think that [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and [name_u]Scout[/name_u] work well together: Very lively and sweet. From previous suggestions, I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f]. Other ideas:
[name_f]Bryony[/name_f]/[name_f]Briony[/name_f]
[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_u]Bristol[/name_u] (although is it too closely associated with [name_u]Palin[/name_u])
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f]
[name_f]Brigid[/name_f]/[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_u]Brinley[/name_u]
[name_u]Burgundy[/name_u]
Would you consider [name_f]Bea[/name_f] on its own? Stylistically i think it ‘fits’ with [name_u]Scout[/name_u].
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] are nice though and I think [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] could would - both feel literary
[name_f]Bronte[/name_f], [name_f]Briar[/name_f] and [name_u]Billie[/name_u] are great suggestions from pp that I’d second.
Some more ideas:
[name_u]Bo[/name_u]/[name_u]Beau[/name_u]
[name_f]Betsy[/name_f]
[name_f]Bria[/name_f]
[name_u]Bryn[/name_u]
[name_u]Brook[/name_u]/[name_m]Brooks[/name_m]
@bellerose - how funny! I love both [name_m]Bix[/name_m] and [name_f]Bea[/name_f] (and Bex and Bixie, half the reason I love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is the nn’s). I’m surprised but pleased people think they can work together. I also like [name_u]Bay[/name_u] and [name_f]Briar[/name_f]!
@llbaby22 - thanks for your feedback! Totally agree that names don’t have to be a matched set but I like to be cognizant of any differences that could cause feelings of unfairness or different expectations down the road. That being said, I do like [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] so I’m glad to hear you think it could work!
@danakatherine - thank you! I’m surprised at all the love for [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] but so pleased. [name_u]Blake[/name_u] and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] were on our list last time, so good choices!
@greyblue - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] on its own but it may be a tough sell with DH. It also feels very vintage to me so I’m not sure it “works” with Sc0ut. I love [name_u]Bo[/name_u] also.
@pamjsg99 - thank you! I’d forgotten about a [name_m]Breck[/name_m]/[name_m]Brecken[/name_m], adding those to the list!
I think [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] sounds great with [name_u]Scout[/name_u]! It’s my favourite of the options you proposed. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] is another B name I like, and [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is a name that’s growing on me and would sounds nice with [name_u]Scout[/name_u].
I’d have to agree with pp, I think [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] works great with [name_u]Scout[/name_u]. I also really like [name_u]Scout[/name_u] with [name_f]Briar[/name_f] and [name_f]Birdie[/name_f].
Other “unisex” suggestions:
[name_m]Banks[/name_m]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_u]Berry[/name_u]
[name_u]Bentley[/name_u]
[name_u]Bryce[/name_u]
@river_dweller - thanks! I do like [name_m]Banks[/name_m] but can only see it on a boy (probably because I watched too much Mighty Ducks as a kid lol). [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] was on our list last time so may have to reconsider that one.
@thenaneprincess - thanks! I like Bex but think I prefer [name_u]Beck[/name_u]
@cameronmarie - thanks! I’m so surprised by all the birdie and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] love
@cartsmarie - thanks! Definitely rethinking [name_f]Briar[/name_f] after seeing all the love for it on here
I really like [name_u]Blair[/name_u] with [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and don’t think it’s too “uppercrust” or urbanite. And it sounds like the negative association is fairly minor, I have a feeling DH could be persuaded.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] feels a little big next to [name_u]Scout[/name_u], but just [name_f]Bea[/name_f] would be a nice choice!
Some other B names:

[name_f]Bronte[/name_f]
[name_f]Babs[/name_f]
[name_u]Bleu[/name_u]
