I feel like most people probably don’t know that [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] means fifth without looking into it. It’s a great name and goes nicely with you sibset.
That being said if you find the meaning a problem, several of the names in your signature work well in your sibset as well! I especially like [name_m]Forrest[/name_m], [name_m]Grover[/name_m], and [name_m]Rufus[/name_m].
You could think of it this way:
Yes, he will be your sixth child, but he will also be each of your children’s fifth sibling!
I love [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], and think you should go for it
“It’s okay but not perfect” is a good way of putting it. [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is a handsome name that fits your style very well but I would feel weird using it for baby #6. That being said, I’m probably too much of a name nerd and I don’t really think you should cross it off your list.
Clever way to think of it! I don’t think it’s worth sweating over.
Name nerds will notice, but the general population will not. Ultimately it’s up to you if that small section of people is enough to bother you. I think [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is a nice name, and fits with your sibset.
I don’t think the numerical meaning matters. However, I find it rather formal sounding against your others little’s names. They are all quite short and sweet. [name_m]How[/name_m] about just [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]?
Aw, I hadn’t thought of this, and this is lovely!
I voted that it’s fine, and I love this name and think you should go for it. I think since few families have five kids these days the majority of Quentins are not actually the fifth.
Congratulations!
I agree with pp, there’ll be numerous little Quentins out there that are first, second or third born whose parents chose the name simply for loving it so I don’t think the meaning should be a deal breaker.
Ppl don’t know it means 5th and I think it’s totally fine. [name_m]Will[/name_m] he go by a nickname like your other kids? We are also having our 6th. My husband really wanted to use just [name_m]Huck[/name_m] for a boy but we are having a girl.
Thanks, everyone! I’m glad most of you think [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is usable. I also really like the thought of him being my children’s fifth sibling.
[name_f]Polly[/name_f]'s full name is [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f], [name_u]Romy[/name_u]'s is [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] and [name_m]Huck[/name_m] is actually Hemlock. I don’t think [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] sounds too formal next to them. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] would be a sweet nickname for [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], though. Thank you!
