I am currently pregnant with out fifth son, due end of [name_u]January[/name_u]. Our older sons are [name_m]Arthur/name_m, [name_m]Lucas/name_m, [name_m]Hugo/name_m, and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] (13 months). We love the idea of naming our fifth one [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], and we adore the name itself. However, we are a little concerned that the name is a little ‘out of style’ compared to our other boys’ names. It feels less ‘classic’, or is that just us? What do you think? Does [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] sound well with the others’ names or would [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] (a name we also love!) be a better fit? Or maybe even another name?
I prefer [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]. Other names you might consider with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]:
I think [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is totally in style with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]. They sound completely coordinated and handsome together.
Thank you all for the assuring words! That was just what we needed. I think we have it pretty much down, and who knows? We could always give [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] to our sixth child.
[name_m]Quentin[/name_m] seriously sounds amazing with your other choices.
Individually, [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is so much more distinctive and individual than [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. (I know loads and loads and loads of Sams so I suppose I would think that!) My point being, so many more people have chosen [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] than [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] that you ought to consider redressing the balance
[name_f]EDIT[/name_f]: OK so I’ve just been on the name page for [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and realised that it literally means “fifth”. Considering this would actually be your fifth child, I’m even more convinced that [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is absolutely and completely the perfect name for you
I’d go with [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] too-- it fits perfectly! What about [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] as a combo? [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names for your boys!
I rather love the idea of [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] for you, even though I’m generally not a fan at all (I’ve known one [name_m]Quinton[/name_m] and one [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], and both rubbed me the wrong way for very different reasons. I haven’t been able to get into [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] for that reason, unfortunately!). I think [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], and [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] all go very well together, actually.
Personally, [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is one of my very favorite names, so I’d love to vote for [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] (and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] work very well together!), but it seems like [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] has your heart. I think either [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] or [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] would work well, if you don’t want to give up either one of them.
I think [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is totally fine! Also, not related at all but we are considering the name [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] for our third boy, glad to see it used somewhere! I am afraid it’s too out there for us but I love it!
