Prefer [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], seems to my like the authentic spelling and seems more sophisticated than [name_m]Quintin[/name_m], which I also find strangely rhyming and hard to say

I prefer [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] but would also pronounce them differently. [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] would be more like [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] with a Q, while [name_m]Quintin[/name_m] would be like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]-tin.

I pronounce [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] as Qwen-tin and [name_m]Quinton[/name_m] as [name_u]Quin[/name_u]-ton

I adore both, slightly prefer [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]. I pronounce [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], KWEN-tin and [name_m]Quintin[/name_m], KWIN-tin.

Thanks for the feedback ladies, Quetin does seem more like the proper spelling!

My nephew is named [name_m]Quinten[/name_m] and he has really helped this name grow on me. I was pretty neutral on it, but now I adore it because I associate it with this sweet and happy little boy who I love. It’s a nice and handsome name that is uncommon, but also feels familiar in a way. I prefer [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and pronounce both spellings the same as the other posters.

I prefer [name_m]Quintin[/name_m], it seems more phonetically correct to me. I have a friend who named ber little boy [name_m]Quintin[/name_m] - she calls him [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and Quinny all the time. So cute!

Cute, I love [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. Thats part of the appeal of [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], get to use the nn [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] while giving our son a more masculine name if he prefers it.

My only concern with this name is that it means 5th basically and unless its used on a fifth someone its a bit confusing. I prefer with an I

I prefer the spelling [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and I do pronounce them differently as other posters have said. My problem is with my accent (USA - Mid-Atlantic/[name_m]New[/name_m] [name_f]England[/name_f]) anything that ends in -tin/-ton ends up sounding weird. It’s almost like the T ends up being silent and it’s just “Quen’ in” or “[name_u]Quin[/name_u]’ in”. The [name_m]Quintin[/name_m] spelling makes it easier to pronounce the T for some reason but I just don’t like it visually as much as [name_m]Quentin[/name_m]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a heads-up that some accents might do weird things to the pronunciation, if that bothers you.
