This is probably a stupid question but I was wondering, is there a way to reply to a thread without having to reply directly to the OP?
I noticed in threads with a ton of replies that I either need to scroll down all the way to the bottom of the thread (which can take ages if there’s 50+ replies) or reply directly to the OP.
Is there a way to get the blue ‘reply’ button (of the thread, not the direct reply) to the top of the thread? Because if I click on the gray ‘reply’ button that is on the top of the thread it replies directly to the OP, which may be annoying for the OP. But scrolling through a thread for minutes just to get to the bottom is also a little annoying… is there a way to edit my settings or something?
No, but you can easily jump to the last post in a thread by using the scroll bar to the right of the posts.
On desktop, just click the number at the bottom of the scroll bar telling you when the last reply was posted (it might say “1m” or “2h”, for example) and you’ll be jumped straight to the last post.
On mobile, click the blue box bottom right to select a post to jump to (it might say something like 13/30 — ie. the 13th post of 30). You can then skip straight to the last post in the same way as above.
I hope that’s clear, I can share screenshots if you’re still confused.
Just to add that I wouldn’t worry about this, since by default the OP gets a notification for each reply to their topic, whether it’s a direct reply to the OP or a reply posted using the blue button. Both trigger a notification in the same way.
Oh I never knew this! That really helps, thanks so much! I was on a thread that had over 1k replies and I just felt so overwhelmed, but this makes it easier. Thanks for the info!
If you’re seeing likes on your posts, then they are going through. People sometimes use a like in place of a reply, for example to wish you [name_u]Happy[/name_u] [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] in return.
If you’d like more written replies, you could try posting more topics with specific questions or actions: Which middle for [name_f]Violet[/name_f]? What would you say my name style is? What are your favourite E names right now? Rank my names! That kind of thing.
