Question for the teenberries 😁

hi berries! hope you’re having a great day!

this question is mostly for teenberries/berries in school.

finals are coming up for most of us :cry: as we know, and since I need to do good on these (laughs nervously), and also for personal reasons, I wanted to take a break from Nameberry for finals and the summer (I will have sparing access to a computer in summertime: only check in occasionally). But I am close to TL3 and Aficionado, and I don’t want to lose all my progress :slightly_frowning_face:.

so…how do you teenberries take a break? do you have to tell the mods? can they keep your trust level if you tell them? I want to take a break approximately till early/mid [name_m]August[/name_m] and will probably start around [name_f]May[/name_f].

Not a teenberry, but:

It is possible for admins to manually assign you your trust level. They have definitely done so before (mine, for example) but afaik only for levels 4 and up. In that case you don’t need to do anything beforehand, just announce when you’re back.
However, there’s no guarantee that they want to manually change your trust level. As mundane as that sounds, the rules were made for a reason. Losing a trust level due to a break is possible by design. They are supposed to reflect recent activity, keeping them while not being active is missing the point.
I know it’s not as easy as it sounds, but try not to think of it as users being bossed around by the site. [name_m]Trust[/name_m] levels and especially the lounge access rules based on them are made for users, they help to ensure that Nameberry stays the friendly and trustworthy environment it is. Don’t feel bad about losing a level (or the progress towards earning one)! Once you continue being active here, you’ll get it back in no time.

@Wandarine is correct- we have frozen longtime, dedicated users who had been in trust level 3 for some time and who had to step away from Nameberry for extenuating circumstances- including mental health breaks and school-related breaks.

Unfortunately this is not an option that we offer for trust level 2 members. The trust levels are set up so that members earning [name_m]Trust[/name_m] Level 3 (and Lounge access) are familiar “faces” who have been a strong part of the community for at least a few months prior to build trust and relationships.
