Question of spelling?

I’m having another boy and hubby and I vetoed each others top three names and settled on [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] or the spelling variation [name_m]Efraim[/name_m]. To give some background my hubby is from S [name_u]America[/name_u] and we have a very Spanish last name. We purposely tried to pick names that would go well in Spanish and English. Our other children are:
[name_f]Ana[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] (we call him [name_m]Lando[/name_m] more often than not)
[name_m]Jubal[/name_m] [name_m]Andres[/name_m] (he was going to be [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and at the last second in a fit of hysteria over half the baby boy announcements on Pinterest being [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] we settled on the name my dad always teased us about using–yeah, family joke, but I love it now and it gave me a liking for the bit more unusual.)
Yes, this makes #7 for us.

And now [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]. I just can’t settle on the spelling. [name_m]Efrain[/name_m] is the actual Spanish version, but I like the m sound much better, but I like the exotic look of the f. [name_m]Efraim[/name_m] is a common spelling in [name_m]German[/name_m] and [name_f]Russia[/name_f] according to Nameberry, but it’s not Spanish or English, so really should I bother? My sisters think it just looks spelled badly when spelled with the f instead of ph. And perhaps terrible of me to say, what looks hipster cool (nor going for that I was just randomly trying to think of a descriptive category) might with our last name instead give the impression of non-English speaking immigrant.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted some outside opinions.

And just for anyone interested, my top three names were [name_m]Dario[/name_m], [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m], and [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]. My husband’s top three were [name_m]Jorgan[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and [name_m]Ruben[/name_m].

I think I like the way [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] looks more. Softer somehow? I love the name  When I see [name_m]Efraim[/name_m] I just assume it’s another country’s way of spelling the name so no negative judgement really. I think you should go for [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] though since it’s something that will probably bother you.

I say go with ph
