Questions about Calandra

I’ve lately been loving [name_f]Calandra[/name_f], and thinking about adding it to my list. It means “lark”, which I love, because my grandmother was an avid birdwatcher. As the title suggests, though, I have questions. :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. WDYT of it? I say it cah-LAHN-drah.
  2. WDYT of [name_f]Calandra[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Calandra[/name_f] or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Calandra[/name_f]? (Originally I was thinking of [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] for my list, but I also like this. I have no combos for [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], though…)
  3. Could [name_f]Calandra[/name_f] get the nn [name_f]Cara[/name_f]? I am really keen on using the nn [name_f]Cara[/name_f] somewhere (not as a standalone fn only because I can’t find a single combo I could commit to with [name_f]Cara[/name_f] as a standalone), as it honors my other grandmother (not the birdwatcher), but the only other [name_f]Cara[/name_f] name I’d liked was [name_f]Carolina[/name_f], which I’m not 100% convinced on. I like the idea of [name_f]Calandra[/name_f] nn [name_f]Calla[/name_f], too, but not as much as [name_f]Cara[/name_f], if it’d make even a little bit of sense.
  4. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Calandra[/name_f] would work better as a FN or MN in real life? (I know it’s more unusual, but what I’m getting at is, it’s not too rare/weird that it shouldn’t be used up front, is it?)
  5. Any alternate FNs or MNs for it, if you don’t like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]/[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]? I also like the idea of it as a FN…

Thanks, @dingleberry! [name_f]Calandra[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] was only my first idea–I’m not sure I can see me using it, 100%, but I do like it fairly well.

I think [name_f]Calandra[/name_f] is quite lovely and different! I think the nickname cara could work for the name but I have to say i love the combination of [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Calandra[/name_f]!

I think it could work really well as a first name due of its similarities to [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]. I also think [name_f]Cara[/name_f] is a great nn for it. I like it!

Calasndra is lovely. I agree with the previous poster who said with its similarities to [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], it should be perfectly usable. [name_f]Cara[/name_f] would be a great nickname for it, too. All the letters are there and even in the right order, so I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t work.

Your combos are lovely, too. I honestly like all of them. You have [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] first with it, but I think it would be stunning flipped around as [name_f]Calandra[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]! My least favorite of the combos is probably [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Calandra[/name_f], but that one is still very nice.
