Questions about Penelope

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like or dislike this name? What do you imagine a [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] to be like, look like and be interested in? Our surname is three syllables and ends in an ‘e’ sound. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it would sound too sing-song?
Thanks for your thoughts

I know this is a nb fav and I’m in the minority but I personally don’t like it. I always think of that movie [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] with the girl with the pig snout nose unfortunately :(. I’m probably the only one though, and I love a lot of the nn’s [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] comes with.

as for the last name flow- is the e sound at the end the stressed syllable? if so it may be a bit too matchy for me, but if not, It may sound fine! (it’s hard to tell without actually knowing the last name for me, but i think if you say it aloud a few times in a row, you’ll be able to tell if it sounds too singy)

For me, I would ALWAYS dislike this name. I know it’s a NB favorite but i don’t like the sound of it. I think it’s gonna be one of the overused names with the Emmas, Olivias, and Sophias [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
But on the bright side, I love the nn [name_u]Penny[/name_u]!

I like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. Ultimately my husb and I put it on pur B list because I only liked the name in full and he only liked the nn. I guess Id say… Make sure you like [name_u]Penny[/name_u], because I cant see that not happening. And its a way to get on the [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] train without her being one of four Penelopes in her class. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] has that flair without being too frilly, I think.

Can you offer a name that rhymes w your last name or change around some of the consonants? Indicate where the stress is in your last name /do all syllables receive equal meter? Otherwise, its kinda hard to say whether its singsongy.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

I’ve never met anyone with the name in person. While it’s possible it will become popular, it’s more or less unheard of in my area. If I were to associate the name with anyone, it would be [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u]. Personally, I imagine someone with this name as a positive figure. I picture someone as smart as she is beautiful, with a lot of ambition and a witty sense of humor. I don’t think it would be too out of place with your surname.
