Secondly, honest thoughts? Too popular? Dated?

Also, Rowen or Rowan?

Very unpopular opinion on this site but I can’t picture [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] on a boy. I think of [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_m]Blanchard[/name_m] or [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Fox[/name_u] from the 13 Treasures series and I don’t know of any boys. It’s been my number 1 girl name for a couple years!

I think it’s gorgeous. I love the witchy vibes, the soft strength, and the flowy sound. It doesn’t feel dated at all and I hope it doesn’t get too popular for boys or girls. Definitely prefer [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. I’m so used to it that [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] looks weird.

I love [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]! Generally feel like [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] is more delicate & lacey and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], strong & woodsy. I’ve had [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] on and off the top tier of my list for years! I think it works for everyone— and particularly enjoy the association of rowan wood & pure-hearted people :,)

Opinion: one of my FAVORITE names but sadly won’t ever be able to use because a cousin of mine is named [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. He is a boy and so is the only other “Roen” I personally know. I know of a girl named [name_u]Rowen[/name_u]. It is 100000% a neutral name to me. I would use it for a boy if it was available for me to use but it’s perfect for a girl too. I think it’s in the category with [name_u]Riley[/name_u], I’d never know if it was a girl or boy unless I saw a middle name with it.

I definitely prefer [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. I hate to say a spelling looks feminine because I’m always one to say changing the spelling doesn’t do that, but [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] would seem less “masculine” to me over [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], but I wouldn’t assume a [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] was a girl based off the spelling. But definitely [name_u]Rowan[/name_u].

Completely unisex to me! I like the name. I don’t think it’s dated yet. Would 100% keep the [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] spelling.

I think it’s pretty unisex as a name overall, but voted masculine because I personally strongly prefer it on a boy. I’ve met boys and girls with this name in about equal amounts though, and think it’s 100% usable for both, not dated, and an overall great name for anyone. I don’t particularly love the spelling [name_u]Rowen[/name_u], but I do quite like [name_u]Roan[/name_u] (just not as much as [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]).

I voted masculine because it feels more masculine to me but I do like it on a girl also, I just tend to picture a boy first.

I think it seems more popular than it actually is on here because I see it mentioned a lot on the forums but I’ve never actually met one irl. I prefer [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] to [name_u]Rowen[/name_u].

I think [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] (b) and [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] (g) are nice too, if you’re after alternatives.

Rowan Atkinson makes it seem masculine only for me

For me, it’s a unisex name that definitely leans masculine. I know/have heard of multiple male Rowans (including Atkinson and [name_m]Williams[/name_m], both quite well known) and only one female [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], though it wears well either way.

I think it’s a lovely warm, solid nature name. The trees are beautiful and symbolic too. [name_f]My[/name_f] only complaint is that it’s really picking up traction lately – particularly here in the UK – and I do think it’s got the potential to get quite popular, with its very on-trend sound and general naturey vibe.

I’ve met 2 Rowans -one girl, one boy, so it does feel completely unisex to me

It’s a nice, earthy name

I’ve only heard it on boys and it doesn’t sound feminine at all to me.

It’s cute and outdoorsy, not dated but will potentially be dated in the future (it’s rising very fast)

I prefer [name_u]Rowan[/name_u].

It feels completely unisex to me, I know a boy named [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and a girl named [name_u]Rowen[/name_u], I prefer [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] because of the nature connection!

I’ve only ever seen [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] on a man so for me it’s slightly more to the masculine side but definitely could be neutral too as it is a nature name. Spelling it [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] looks weird to me and would affect the pronunciation imo.
