This is an offshoot from my other post. Particularly interested in a response from blade, but anyone who might know I would love to her from.
I got my ‘period’ [name]June[/name] 3rd. It was very short, abnormally so. Only two full days, although i had normal flow. My symptoms leading up to it were abnormal, and as of [name]June[/name] 9th I’ve been having waves of nausea especially in the morning but continuing all day off and on. Cooked food sounds gross. I’ve been snacking on random things like cheese and smoothies and toast.
ANYWAYS. I am probably fabricating all of this and just hoping I am preggers! But to be sure I want to test. Being that it is 8 days since my period ended, is it ok for me to test tonight? Or could the water, fluids, and all of those things that dilute urine still play a factor?
[name]Just[/name] trying to figure out if I could get an accurate answer tonight or if I need to wait till the am!
If you’re pregnant, your last “period” wasn’t really a period at all (just early pregnancy bleeding) so your gestation would be calculated from your last period in [name]May[/name], which would mean you’re over five weeks pregnant. Therefore, you could test at any time of day (with any amount of water in your system) and expect an accurate result.
I’m sorry you didn’t get the result you were hoping for Bostonsavvy! We didn’t really try for the first year either but it always hurt to get the negative test result so I know what you mean. Hopefully you’ll get that positive sooner than later!
Thanks for the warm wishes! It is sort of a strange feeling. I can’t really be overly sad because I know it’s not what we were planning for in the first place… But I [name]DO[/name] get sad every single time! I know it will happen in time though. When we actually ARE trying. Maybe sooner, who knows
Sorry the news wasn’t what you wanted, but, who knows, when you really start TTC maybe it’ll happen straight away! Best of luck
By the way, you can join in discussions on our TTC thread if you haven’t already. I know you’re not actively TTC yet, but there’s a few girls on there who are in their “pre-TTC” phase. I joined in a couple months before my husband and I actively started trying! Also, it’s a good place to ask questions relating to PMS symptoms/pregnancy symptoms, etc.
@bostonsavvy, before I got pregnant with [name]Rowan[/name] we were in the “Well, I hate birth control so whatever happens happens” frame of mind, not actively TTC. I got pregnant after 4 months, but each time I got a negative test I was oddly devastated. I guess that’s how I knew I really wanted a baby. When I got that positive though, I still had a mini panic attack. Haha
