Only if the Y in the last name also makes an EE sound, which few of them do (I can’t think of more than one right now).
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_m]Young[/name_m] or even [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_m]Young[/name_m] doesn’t look or sound too bad. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_m]Yves[/name_m] (ee-vs), is a different story, as the names run together.
^^my thoughts exactly.
Ok thanks! Last name starts with Yeag, my name is [name_u]Casey[/name_u] and after switching from a maiden name that “L” something about my married name has always bugged me. Trying to figure out if it is the [name_u]Casey[/name_u] Yeagxx double y/long e sound or something else.
I think it greatly depends on the surname. Some would probably flow fine with a Y name, because of the way they sound and the amount of syllables they have. Other, obviously, could sound quite awkward.
