Oh goodness. These are two of my all-time favorite girl names! Such a hard decision!
I think [name]Camilla[/name] sounds just a tad prettier, but I absolutely love them both.
I like the sound of [name]Amelia[/name] better than [name]Camilla[/name], but where I live [name]Amelia[/name] is a fairly popular name so it lost some of its appeal for me. Would you consider the flower name [name]Camellia[/name] (ca-MEEL-ee-a)? I like it better.
Lately, I’m really loving both, but I think I’d be tempted to combine them and go with [name]Camellia[/name]. [name]Camilla[/name] has been the longer favorite, for me, at least, so personally I’d probably opt for that, because I know it’s tried and true, but [name]Amelia[/name] is lovely and I would love to meet a little girl with the name!
[name]Amelia[/name] seems to have more nickname possibilities, if that matters. I haven’t read all the replies but I really like the [name]Camellia[/name] suggestions some are making. [name]Amelia[/name] was my first college roommate so I lean towards [name]Camilla[/name] but it’s not a very good reason
I love [name]Camilla[/name] , despite the [name]Parker[/name]-Bowles reference . They are both lovely but [name]Camilla[/name] just has that bit more sophistication- it seems less ‘girly’ than [name]Amelia[/name] and therefore think it will age better and suit a girl who is a tomboy as well as a more feminine lady. You also have the nicknames [name]Cam[/name] ,[name]Cammie[/name], [name]Mila[/name] and [name]Millie[/name] to chose from.
A vote for [name]Camilla[/name]! I think they’re both gorgeous but slightly prefer [name]Camilla[/name]. Where I live (Australia), [name]Amelia[/name] has been very popular for decades whereas [name]Camilla[/name] is unusual and refreshing!
