Hello,
I have gone around and back again with this naming business, as can be the way, and whilst I’m now sold on [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] ([name_f]Eva[/name_f]) [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as our two middle names for DD4, we’re not sure what first name works best.
Strong contenders are [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], but we prefer [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] on boys and are worried [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is a bit frilly / are not sure we like any of its’ obvious nicknames.
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] was also a possible first name (rather than middle), but DH thought it not special enough. If it’s not one issue, it’s its opposite…
Any thoughts on our dilemma or alternative first name suggestions with those two middles?
Many thanks in advance!
I don’t think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is too frilly! [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] also comes to mind, which has the nickname [name_u]Rory[/name_u]? Or, there’s Audelia nn [name_f]Delia[/name_f]?
I would say [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] is a little difficult to say because of the two vowel sounds so close together. Whereas [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] flows a bit better. Both names are beautiful though!
Here are a few more suggestions based on what you seem to like and your middle names:
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]
[name_f]Elana[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]
[name_f]Erin[/name_f]
[name_u]Jules[/name_u]
Maybe you would like [name_f]Auria[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is a lovely choice! I know a young [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] who seems to wear it quite well; I think she goes by the full name, but I think Auri/[name_u]Ori[/name_u] would be wonderful options!
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] has a lovely, tailored flow, in my opinion. I’m not quite sold on [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] look a little cluttered next to each other
I love [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! So beautiful.
Nicknames could be [name_f]Aurie[/name_f]/Auri/[name_u]Ori[/name_u], [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]/Aulie, [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_u]Elia[/name_u], [name_u]Rory[/name_u]/[name_f]Rorie[/name_f], [name_f]Aura[/name_f], AJ, Aulia/[name_f]Olia[/name_f].
I quite like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! Names that are similar but slightly more streamlined:
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Celine[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
I much prefer [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is just not my style and I find it hard to say. And I think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Aoibhe[/name_f] is a real tongue-twister.
