Before you bring out your torches and pitchforks, no I don’t want to name a future child Quinoa. On pinterest there is a board called My Imaginary Well-Dressed Toddler Daughter, it is hilarious. They are pictures of fashionable and beautiful children who are posted under the premise that the blogger who writes these posts has an imaginary daughter named “Quinoa”. The writer is clever and funny, but what I adore about this board aside from the adorably dressed children are the fantastic and strangely named cohorts of imaginary child-fashion-icon Quinoa. http://pinterest.com/tiffanywbwg/my-imaginary-well-dressed-toddler-daughter/
These are the names of some of “Quinoa’s friends”:
What do you think of these names? Could any of them be wearable? Can you think of any names that could be well-suited to this fashion forward hoarde of children? Use your imagination or your guilty pleasures! Or both!
[name]Booker[/name], [name]Ridley[/name], [name]Hugo[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], and [name]Elias[/name] are wearable. The rest are over-the-top or just dumb as names.
Buahaha! What a great idea. This board is hysterical. “When out in public with Quinoa, I can hear the sound of hipster ovaries swelling with want” made me bust up laughing. I love her BFF Chevron.
Hallifax- Reminds me of halitosis. Not wearable.
Humboldt- Seems like a surname. I can see it being vintage-trendy (if that’s a style lol). Bolt would be a cool nn.
[name]Booker[/name]- Wearable and adorable!
[name]Ridley[/name]- Wearable and adorable!
[name]Hugo[/name]- Wearable!
[name]Jasper[/name]- Wearable!
Edgington- Not usable.
Houndstooth- Not usable.
Gaultier- Nope!
[name]Elias[/name]- Wearable.
Chevron- Reminds me of [name]Cheyenne[/name]. Wearable. I think it’s cute. [name]Chevy[/name] and [name]Ronnie[/name] would be cute nn’s.
[name]Barcelona[/name]- Place name. Usable.
Fendi- I think it’s nice. Reminds me of Bindi ([name]Steve[/name] [name]Irwin[/name]'s daughter).
Wow, how did I miss this board on pinterest?! Thanks for the heads up, entangler.
I think Edington could be a cute nn/elaboration for [name]Edward[/name] for those that don’t use [name]Ed[/name], [name]Eddy[/name] or [name]Ned[/name].
Gaultier is the real(?) name of singer Gotye, but I guess since he doesn’t go by it, it must not be super wearable.
Humboldt and Chevron could defintely take off.
ruolan, Gaultier is actually the French equivalent of his first name, [name]Wouter[/name], according to Wikipedia Gotye - Wikipedia
[name]Hugo[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], and [name]Elias[/name] are the only ones that sound like real names to me. They’re not really my style, though. The rest sound like last names, although I guess that’s what’s popular these days.
My dad calls the grain “[name]Quin[/name]-noah” still, even though he has heard us say it over and over again. (As a vegetarian household, we eat a lot of the stuff, lol)
Chevron cracked me up, its so 2012 to me and if was a real person would be dated to that time period in pinterest style.
I actually really like Hallifax, [name]Ridley[/name], [name]Hugo[/name], and [name]Elias[/name]. [name]Ridley[/name], [name]Hugo[/name], and [name]Elias[/name] are legit names, and [name]Halifax[/name] just sounds so badass (and reminds me of a play I like). I probably wouldn’t use it myself, because it seems so hipster. But man, it’s cool.
I have an uncle whose name is [name]Fernando[/name] but goes by Fendi. [name]Jasper[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] are the only two names I would ever consider using, the rest are just too weird for me
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u] are ones I’d definitely consider. [name_m]Booker[/name_m] and [name_u]Ridley[/name_u] are also wearable. As for the rest, I’d leave well alone. I’d feel sorry for the kids if they weren’t imaginary.
