So there’s a new show on TLC (now that jon and kate are out of there) about multiples; Quints by surprise. I’m not sure why it’s such a surprise since they were artificially inseminated, but whatever… i didn’t actually watch the show so i guess i can’t say.
anyway! i was wondering what you guys thought of their names…
Everything besides [name]Ethan[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] made me make a disgusted face haha. Actually [name]Lila[/name] is ok I guess. I’d like [name]Delilah[/name] better though.
Personally I like the idea of [name]Ryan[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name] as a girls name (not a fan of the one L though). But i think it’s a little odd with such a feminine name like [name]Lila[/name]. I don’t like brooklyn (i think it’s over used) and I especially don’t like it with [name]Britton[/name]. [name]Britton[/name] sounds like a place name when said out loud and it’s much too similar to brooklyn. I would have one of them, but not both.
Can you guys come up with a better [name]Quint[/name] set (4 girls, 1 boy) that has the same sort of feeling?
Well I pretty much despise giving boy’s names to girls, so I really dislike [name]Ryan[/name] and [name]Eliot[/name] for girls. [name]Eliot[/name] was how T.S. [name]Eliot[/name] spelled his last name I believe, so I don’t mind that spelling variation so much
But yes, this is an awful set. [name]Jack[/name]. [name]Lila[/name] which is a very feminine. [name]Ryan[/name] which is a boy’s name on a girl. Then [name]Britton[/name] and [name]Brooklyn[/name] which care both location names. It’s all over the place. I’ll even go out on a limb and say [name]Britton[/name] is giving a girl a boy’s name as well, since the only Britons I’ve heard of are male.
And I don’t think anyone can come up with a better set with this one’s feel since there is no feel to be spoken of. I’ve never seen such dissimilar names. The only thing I see is that they’re all (including the parents even) two syllable names.
On reading [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Lila[/name], I thought I was going to be in for a dose of multiple-naming goodness, but in my opinion it went drastically downhill after that.
For a better [name]Quint[/name] sib set, with a bit of a similar feel I would do:
[name]Jack[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Kaia[/name], [name]Bridget[/name] & [name]Evelyn[/name].
I would keep [name]Jack[/name], cause I love it! I would change [name]Lila[/name] to [name]Lily[/name] because I think it sounds better personally. I made [name]Ryan[/name] into [name]Kaia[/name], because they are both “unisex” but [name]Kaia[/name] seems more feminine and still “trendy” like [name]Ryan[/name] was. [name]Bridget[/name] instead of [name]Britton[/name] and [name]Evelyn[/name] instead of [name]Brooklyn[/name].
Oh! And I would change [name]Eliot[/name]'s name to [name]Eloise[/name] or something…
[name]Eliot[/name] is 3 syllables: [name]El[/name]- e- jut, i would know how to say it in 2 ([name]El[/name]-jut? that sounds awful)
Not a fan of [name]Britton[/name] but I like [name]Brooklynn[/name] and i really like [name]Ryan[/name] and [name]Eliot[/name] (prefer [name]Elliot[/name] though) on girl. Not a fan of [name]Jack[/name] or [name]Lila[/name]
I know they dont ‘have the same feel’ but they do, they were names loved by the parents, isnt that enough of a theme/feel?
I didn’t realize they had a series, I only saw the special a few months back, but I absolutely hate this sibling set. [name]Jack[/name], [name]Ryan[/name], and [name]Elliot[/name] are really cute for brothers, but I don’t hear anything feminine about the latter two. [name]Lila[/name] is really cute, and I think it would fit with those three (boys) names, but [name]Britton[/name] and [name]Brooklyn[/name] are such random additions. Not a fan at all.
I can’t say that I dislike [name]Eliot[/name], [name]Jack[/name], [name]Lila[/name], or [name]Ryan[/name]. I have met girls named [name]Ryan[/name] and [name]Eliot[/name] before, so I guess this isn’t surprising. What doesn’t make sense to me is the addition of [name]Britton[/name] and [name]Brooklyn[/name]!! Where on earth did those names come from? They definitely don’t fit with the others, and neither of them are nice names imo.
I have to say that I am a fan of [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Eliot[/name], and [name]Britton[/name] for girls. [name]Brooklyn[/name] is not my favorite, but I love [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Lila[/name]!
I was joking (mostly). Not everyone is as obsessed with names as I am, so not everybody has even heard of this site. 2. This is a site about opinions, and parents’ thoughts obviously come very much into play when it comes to their children’s names, so I do not think my comment was out of line or inappropriate. If they love the names, good for them, but it sounds to me more like maybe they’d thought they only needed [name]Jack[/name] for a boy or [name]Lila[/name] for a girl but suddenly had three or four extra names to figure out and just through something together. And for the record, I never said anything about the kids except that they were on TV. There are a lot of kids on TV…I don’t necessarily believe that’s a bad thing.
Im sorry, i didnt notice the sarcastic undertone in the comment.

I agree, but your comment sounded like those parents were crazy and never, ever should have giving their baby’s those names.
This is a disappointing sib set in my opinion. I marvel at the fact that a family with the incredible opportunity of naming quintuplets chose to give them names that sound so dull together.
