The title basically says it all. [name_m]Zane[/name_m] is a fairly new (re-)addition to my list, and I’m really loving it, but I’m not set on a combo yet. I have tossed around a couple ideas, and I like them, but I’m not set on anything. What would you pair with [name_m]Zane[/name_m]?
The combos I’ve been tossing around, for reference and frame of mind, are:
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Aaron[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] (anything with a [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] [or literature!] reference earns major brownie points! However, I think [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is my favorite with [name_m]Zane[/name_m], although I wouldn’t be opposed to [name_m]Peter[/name_m] as a second middle. I like [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] as a character, but not so much as a name)
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Dominic[/name_m]/[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] (I do like [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] a lot, but any old Eureka fans will understand my hesitation with [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Donovan[/name_m]!)
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Fielding[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Sumner[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]?
I think [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], and [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] would all be very dashing. [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is especially standing out to me. [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m]? [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Sumner[/name_m]?
I love the idea of a [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_u]Wallace[/name_u]. So cute.
From your list I love [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] & [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Dominic[/name_m].
I have a [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] in my family…
But I love [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] and [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m].
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] is one of my favourite one-syllable names for a boy! Since its a short four letter name, I like longer mn’s that break up the straight line of the name (eg. names that contain hanging letters like y,g,j,p,q). [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is one of these names. Here are some examples.
Thanks, ladies! I hadn’t expected to love [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] so much, but it’s really growing on me! And I’m glad to hear it’s so well-received. (And I can imagine a [name_f]Narnia[/name_f]-themed nursery years down the line!)
I’m really loving the suggestions of [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], and [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m], especially! They sound so princely, all of them. [name_m]Philip[/name_m] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] usually aren’t my cup of tea, but I really adore them with [name_m]Zane[/name_m]. And [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]! I love [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] from the book of Acts; I love the meaning of his name (son of encouragement) and the British and down-to-earth feel of the bubbly [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m], and [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] is just fab.
I love [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] is also nice.
No suggestions, I just wanted to say that
Honestly, the first thing that came to mind is Heathrow … I know it’s not technically an official name, but it just seems to go well. If it’s too out there, [name_m]Heathcliff[/name_m] would be another option, but I’m not sure I’d qualify [name_m]Heathcliff[/name_m] as “quirky”. [name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] also has a fantastic flow. I think I kind of like that as a double barrel name, which would be quirky on a boy.
Starting to toy around with some two-MN combos–what do you ladies think of these?
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Rufus[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Sumner[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] Brave (I would for sure use a “B” second middle, in honor of my grandfather, whose “name” was L.B. No actual name, just two initials)
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] [name_u]Bryn[/name_u]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_m]Zane[/name_m] [name_m]Percival[/name_m]/[name_m]Zane[/name_m] Pimpernel (meh, too fanciful? I love the idea of Pimpernel as a middle for a boy. [name_m]How[/name_m] could a little boy not love the association to the [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] Pimpernel?! Is it too girly, though?)
[name_m]Just[/name_m] some ideas I’m tossing around; I’m not tied to any as of yet. [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] are particularly appealing as second middles, though, with significance to various things. [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] and [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] reference where I’m from, too, so I sort of like the appeal of using those as middles. Anything you would tweak with these combos? Anything you really love?
