Any more suggestions?

Oops, I haven’t replied to everyone’s suggestions . . . sorry! :-? First of all, I’ve been very impressed by how well people have got my style. There’s loads that I like from all your replies! We’ll have to wait and see which names end up ‘sticking’!

@namenculture - there are many good suggestions here! I like [name_u]Auberon[/name_u], [name_m]Jethro[/name_m], [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m], [name_m]Casimir[/name_m], [name_m]Phineas[/name_m], [name_m]Conrad[/name_m], [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], [name_m]Adrian[/name_m], [name_m]Abram[/name_m], and [name_m]Augustin[/name_m]. in fact [name_m]Gaetan[/name_m]/[name_m]Gaetano[/name_m] is the only one I actively don’t like. I also like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] though, probably better than [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] atm, and [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] better than [name_m]Magnus[/name_m], and [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] better than [name_m]Phineas[/name_m], and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] (g) better than [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] (b), and Conory better than [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] . . . ! I’m very intrigued by [name_m]Abram[/name_m], I hadn’t thought of that . . . and I’ve just started to reconsider [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]. I’ve always thought it sounded quite sleek and almost feminine, a sort of feline, velvet-glove villain name. Also thinking along the [name_m]Monty[/name_m] route - [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] seems a little surname-ish for my taste, but that may change. We’ll see!

@columbiacharm - [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] is interesting, another one that I’ve never considered considering (if that makes sense!). I like how you could get the nn [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] or [name_m]Marcel[/name_m]. (Note to self: think about [name_m]Marcel[/name_m]!) [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is so handsome! I really like it. I guess I’ve always linked it with [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] in [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] and somehow omitted to think of it as a name on its own. I also like [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], actually. I like [name_m]Linus[/name_m] too, and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], which I hadn’t thought of, as well as [name_m]Maximus[/name_m], [name_m]Otto[/name_m], and possibly [name_m]Darius[/name_m], [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m], [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m] . . . all of which merit much thought! Thank you!

@tanaquil - wow, these are so unusual! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Caradoc[/name_m]. Not sure what nicknames I’d put with it - [name_m]Roc[/name_m]?? [name_u]Red[/name_u] might even work - but it’s magnificent. [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] and [name_m]Humphrey[/name_m] are ones I’ve vaguely been considering - I think I prefer [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]. I really like [name_u]Remy[/name_u], [name_m]Inigo[/name_m], Isambard, maybe [name_m]Mortimer[/name_m] and Eltanin. (Reminds me of Elkanan.) I’d completely forgotten I ever heard of [name_u]Rigel[/name_u] and [name_m]Tycho[/name_m]. [name_m]Algernon[/name_m] . . . hmm, still a bit foppish to my ears, but could grow on me. [name_m]Valdemar[/name_m] is very striking, but maybe more of a book character name for now. [name_u]Rigel[/name_u], [name_m]Tycho[/name_m], and [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] deserve more consideration, as does [name_u]Cato[/name_u].

Thank you, everyone!

I really like [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]. I suggest [name_m]Ramsey[/name_m].

In addition to the many great suggestions already made by previous posters,

Amram
[name_m]Dougal[/name_m]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_m]Tybalt[/name_m]
[name_m]Napoleon[/name_m]
[name_m]Rolf[/name_m]
[name_m]Osiris[/name_m]
[name_m]Odysseus[/name_m]
[name_u]Wallace[/name_u]
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]
[name_m]Prewitt[/name_m]
[name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m]
[name_m]Errol[/name_m]
[name_m]Bogart[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m]
[name_m]Templeton[/name_m]
[name_m]Wilbur[/name_m]
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m]
[name_m]Abner[/name_m]

Also, any of the names from my signature… I feel like many of them qualify as quirky yet traditional. I love your taste and most of your names are also on my master list!

@felicitysmoak - [name_m]Ramsey[/name_m] has some serious swagger. I’m starting to think about more surname-y names (at least for boys) such as [name_u]Murray[/name_u], [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], and [name_m]Mortimer[/name_m], and [name_m]Ramsey[/name_m] fits right in!

@medfordkung - haha, thank you! Your style’s pretty cool too  From your signature I like [name_m]Idris[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m], and [name_u]Stanley[/name_u] (and [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] [name_m]Stuart[/name_m] is an amazing combo!) and from your list I like [name_m]Dougal[/name_m], [name_m]Errol[/name_m], [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m], and [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] the best. Thinking about [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] and [name_m]Abner[/name_m]. I’ve been wondering about [name_m]Wilbur[/name_m] because on one level it sounds a bit . . . well, weak, I guess, and nerdy-in-a-bad-way-boy-with-glasses-and-nondescript-hair-but-he’s-got-rich-parents-and-gets-bullied-at-[name_m]Eton[/name_m] sort of name. And then on another it’s one of those cool names that could truly get rocked by a modern-day boy. I know people called [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] and [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] pretty well so they’re not really up for grabs, but they’re great names! Especially [name_m]Reuben[/name_m].
