As I go through my book of names, I realize that I like a lot of R names:
Runa
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Ronja[/name_f]
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]
[name_f]Roxana[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosamunde[/name_f]
[name_f]Raziya[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalba[/name_f]
[name_f]Ravenna[/name_f]
[name_m]How[/name_m] about you? What are your favorite R names?
I love seeing what other people’s “letters” for names are - mine (for girls) is L, but I do have a few R names I love:
[name_u]Remi[/name_u]
[name_f]Rhea[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]: so adorable and vintage-like.
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] / [name_f]Roza[/name_f]: it has more personality than [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in my opinion. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though, the word for “rose” would be spelled [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] is my language, I really enjoy the Z version for no reason.
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]: I may not be a HP fan, but I love the names! I pronounce the “wen” part as “when”.
[name_f]Roxie[/name_f]: I think it’s a cool name with a more romantic spelling. I think about the colors pink and purple when I see this one (in Portuguese, pink is “rosa” and purple is “roxo”).
[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosamond[/name_f]: the “mund/ mond” ages the name [name_f]Rose[/name_f] a little bit, as well as, makes it more intriguing.
[name_f]Ravenna[/name_f]: the “[name_m]Ra[/name_m]” part I pronounce like the beginning of [name_u]Havana[/name_u], instead of [name_u]Ray[/name_u]. [name_f]Ravena[/name_f] is the translated name of the character [name_u]Raven[/name_u] (DC COMICS - The Titans) here in [name_m]Brasil[/name_m]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this one, because of the character in the Teen Titans cartoon.
Rosaluna: invented name? I was looking for a substitute for [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f], because I hate the spelling Evaluna and I came up with this.
[name_f]Raga[/name_f]: adore the harsh sound of it.
Rosethorn: warrior [name_f]Princess[/name_f] vibe. Or fantasy medieval idk.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]: spunky, but ages well. [name_f]Mona[/name_f] is a nice nn.
[name_u]Ripley[/name_u]: I don’t know if I prefer it on boy or on a girl.
Rexy: I like [name_u]Rex[/name_u], but wanted something feminine.
And I have [name_u]Raven[/name_u] and [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] under consideration too. I’m starting to like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] due to some character associations, and [name_f]Ravenna[/name_f]'s pretty cool.
My favorites are [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] to lesser extent. I always think do I love this name enough to bestow upon my child? Yes, no? It’s the case with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], but not the latter two.
Ooh, I forgot [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f]! That’s a gorgeous R name. I do like [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], too, but not enough I don’t think…I think it’s the moan sound in it.
I tend to love R names too! I like Runa from your list, I’ve never heard that before.
My favorites (although I wouldn’t actually use most of these):
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Renee[/name_f]
Reya (ray-uh)
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]/[name_u]Rowen[/name_u]
[name_f]Rania[/name_f]
[name_u]River[/name_u]
Rowenna/[name_f]Rowena[/name_f] (I pronounce it ro-WHEN-uh)
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Riley[/name_u]
[name_u]Raven[/name_u]
Rukiya
[name_f]Raine[/name_f]
Rienne
I always thought [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], and [name_f]Renee[/name_f] would make cute triplets.
I like your list a lot, especially [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] & [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], which are both on my list.
Other top favorites that I would consider naming my daughter:
[name_f]Romina[/name_f] (pronounced Row-mina) I think its pretty and elegant and rare, which is a bonus.
[name_u]Romy[/name_u] (pronounced Row-mee) One of my favorite names, I came across it in a forum, which led me to [name_f]Romina[/name_f].
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]: [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is one of my favorite names too, absolutely adore it, would name by daughter [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in a heartbeat, but flower names are so popular right now I feel like I shouldn’t. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] has the bonus of including [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] as a nickname and being much less popular. I also think it sounds more classy.
Names I like in theory but would probably not name by child: [name_u]Remi[/name_u] (the only reason I wouldn’t name my daughter that is because I have a niece named [name_f]Emily[/name_f] who goes by [name_f]Emi[/name_f]), [name_u]Rio[/name_u], [name_f]Rosella[/name_f] and [name_f]Reyna[/name_f]. I also like Rowenna mentioned above, but I’m less a fan of [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], because I think most people would pronounce it Row-we-na. I like [name_u]Raven[/name_u] too, though I don’t think I’d use it.
[name_f]Rachel[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] are my favorites (with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] as a more distant third). I also love some other Rom- and [name_f]Ros[/name_f]- names like [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], [name_f]Romina[/name_f], [name_f]Romola[/name_f], [name_f]Romana[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosabelle[/name_f]/Rosabella, [name_f]Roselle[/name_f], [name_f]Rosina[/name_f] ([name_f]ROSINA[/name_f]!), and [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f]. Rhetta, [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] (mainly because it’s my sister’s name), [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], and [name_f]Raffaella[/name_f] (although I’m not sure which spelling I prefer yet) are also on my radar, but more distant options. I go back and forth on [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_u]Rue[/name_u], mainly because my grandmother is [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and I’d like to be able to honor her in some way. In general, though, I’m pretty picky about “R” names. [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] are the only ones I really [name_u]LOVE[/name_u].
[name_f]Raphaela[/name_f], [name_u]Rue[/name_u] and [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] are my favourites, but I also adore:
[name_f]Ravenna[/name_f]
Remedy
[name_u]River[/name_u]
Rixende
Rohesia
[name_f]Roksana[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosana[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Remember[/name_f]
I typically love vowel names for girls, E and A being the most prevailing. There are few long A names I don’t care for…
