Rabia?

I love the name [name_f]Rabia[/name_f], but I don’t know if it’s useable. Is it too associated with rabies? [name_f]Rabia[/name_f] is actually pronounced Raa-bay-a, but maybe people don’t see that.

I would change the spelling. Rabaya? Rabeya?

Rabia reminds me too much of rabies and a female anatomical part. Plus I don’t think many people would pronounce it the way you want.

The spelling rabia looks like rabies at first to me. Sorry!

Rabaya was cool

I think this spelling looks too much like rabies to use in an [name_f]English[/name_f]-speaking place, personally. Rabaya would be very nice!

I pronounce it as raa-bee-uh and never heard another way, that’s new to me.

Probably too rabies, unfortunately.

I thought of rabies when I read it unfortunately

I actually first thought of…well, replace the R with L :grimacing: If it’s possible to change the spelling that’s probably better.

Well, I guess there’s a lot of bad associations with [name_f]Rabia[/name_f]. To change the spelling is probably best

It means anger in Spanish, I’d steer clear of it for that reason.

I’m sorry, but as other members have brought up, there are quite a few negative associations. Changing the spelling might mitigate that!

I don’t understand where the bay sound is coming from. It does look like rabies or some other medical term…

It does remind me a bit too much of rabies

I actually know a Raabia! She says it Raa-bee-a, and unfortunately isn’t a fan of her name because of the rabies association, although tbh I never thought that when I learnt her name. She mostly goes by [name_f]Bia[/name_f]/Bee

I went to school with a [name_f]Rabia[/name_f] who pronounced it raa-bee-uh. I don’t think anyone ever made a comment about it looking/sounding like the word rabies. But if you’re worried, and since you would like to pronounce it differently, I would also suggest changing the spelling to Rabaya

This made me think of rabies and labia. I don’t think it’s usable.

I know a [name_f]Robbia[/name_f] - that spelling seems to get rid of the negative associations.
