Rachel or Ivy? Two faves at the moment

Very different, I know, but these are the two most on my mind lately. Middle names are Irish (my main point of criteria) and the particular ones I chosen here have some non direct significance-- that’s not a requirement though. I like the flow of both names but am just unsure which direction to go. [name]Rachel[/name] is nothing surprising as I’ve heard it all my life but I love it and I think it’d be cool for this little one… She’d likely be the only one in her class with it. [name]Ivy[/name] is my only “trendy” name on my list… I have just always loved it. I don’t know any Ivys myself but I imagine I will hear of a few when my kids hit school age. Which do you like best and why?

[name]Rachel[/name] [name]Moira[/name] [name]McCarthy[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] [name]McCarthy[/name]

([name]McCarthy[/name] is not my last name, but it’s similar enough to give idea of flow).

I also love [name]Rachel[/name]! And [name]Ivy[/name] is becoming common since [name]Beyonce[/name] used it.

I like [name]Rachel[/name] much more as a fn and I love [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Moira[/name].

Should note that siblings are [name]Mason[/name] [name]Patrick[/name] and [name]Brenna[/name] [name]Claire[/name]. But for me, both names compliment the sibset well

[name]Rachel[/name] [name]Moira[/name].

I think [name]Rachel[/name] is very nice with your sib set.

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] gets my vote!

I prefer the name [name]Ivy[/name], but I think [name]Rachel[/name] goes better with [name]Mason[/name] and [name]Brenna[/name].

I like both, and I really like the idea of [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] (could you use a second mn with Irish roots?). I think something like [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] would be lovely, personally. But of the two, I like [name]Rachel[/name] best–it’s on my own top 5. I think [name]Mason[/name], [name]Brenna[/name], and [name]Rachel[/name] are lovely together.

I surprised myself in that I’m voting for [name]Rachel[/name] in your case. [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Moira[/name] sounds lovely.

Here’s a vote for [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name]!

I prefer [name]Rachel[/name]. I like [name]Ivy[/name] as well but it’s starting to feel trendy. I also think that [name]Rachel[/name] has more depth to it.

[name]Rachel[/name]… :). But since that is my name, I am a bit biased :). [name]Ivy[/name] is cute but the whole I.V. thing bothers me. GL

Two of my favourite names! I prefer [name]Rachel[/name] over [name]Ivy[/name], but [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] over [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Moira[/name]. So I’ll vote for [name]Rachel[/name]

[name]Rachel[/name] was ranked 133 last year
[name]Ivy[/name] was 187. I think you may run in to more Rachels than [name]Ivy[/name]'s. [name]Ivy[/name] gets discussed more often on here so I think it can seem more popular than it really is. [name]Rachel[/name] sounds refreshing compared go many of the names I hear frequently on here, but irl I know several Rachels and many are my own age so it does feel a bit dated…though still a lovely name! I really like [name]Moira[/name] and [name]Kathleen[/name]
So my vote goes to [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] or perhaps [name]Moira[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name]?!

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] is stunning. I’ve never liked [name]Rachel[/name] as a name.

This was my thought exactly. [name]Ivy[/name] is my favorite girl’s name (and I love both of your combos), but I think [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Moira[/name] is gorgeous with your sibset.

[name]Both[/name] names are beautiful! [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] makes me swoon. So gorgeous! [name]Rachel[/name] is so very pretty as well. You can’t go wrong either way.

I love [name]Ivy[/name]! I wish I could use it myself but a good friend named their daughter [name]Ivy[/name]. It’s charming and unique.

[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] is eye-poppingly beautiful.

[name]Rachel[/name] [name]Moira[/name] is… fine.
